Tour de France

Post by oakdale160 »

For a while, there was a bonanza of sport on TV--The World cup, then Wimbledon, then Carnoustie all very thrilling--Now its gone quiet. I have tried to get interested in the Tour de France but it is not too interesting except occasional views of the French countryside. Just a bunch of hundreds of cyclists and a ten-second sprint at the end--- I must ask my French friends if I am missing something.

I`ve been watching the Tour de France on ITV4, the commentators are very knowledgeable and explain the technicalities, but even they say it`s mainly a few hours of tedium followed by 30 seconds of excitement. Added bonuses are the scenery and the fact you can change channels to watch a favourite programme then swicth back and nothing different has happened

Great triumph for Geraint, in his first T de F in 07 he finished 140th out of 141 finishers, great dedication.
