Caller, you feel like a zombie through sleep-deprivation--- At least the Germans, Spanish, Portuguese and Argentinians will be spared that problem.

No points due to draw, but overall outcome gives me a smile as I picked both Russia and Croatia. Pete

Brazil/Mexico 2-0 Good to see a game decided in regulation time and with no penalty finish

I didn't see anything, but the TV pundits were saying the Mexican's foot definitely went down with force on his ankle. However, I remember a friend, who was a successful footballer telling me that if you are genuinely hurt, you lie still because the pain intensifies if you start jumping around Neymar style.

Such a shame these players feel they need to cheat.

The world cup 2018 has been full of surprises. Germany is out of the tournament and Belgium is scoring unbelievable goals. I watch FIFA world cup online on the internet, hoping to see England aceing today's game.

England beat Columbia on penalties tonight.
A good match, but a bit dirty on both sides.

Dirty on both sides Don? Colombia should have finished with 8 men, head butts and over protesting to the referee, but then I am biased.

True, but I did see a few fouls from England players as well.
Still, the best men won, that’s what counts in the end.

Just woke up :D

If Columbia had played football for 90 minutes, England would have been on the plane home. They chose to cheat, England are in the quarter finals, Columbia have gone, bring on Sweden

You are probably correct BB, Columbia showed on a few occasions that they could knock the ball about and cause England problems, but they were guilty of their own undoing by theoreticals and unnecessary fouls.

Although Sweden are anything but pushovers, they’re style of play is not too disimilar to England’s, so it should be a fairly even contest - let the best team win, hopefully It will be England!!

I thought autumn had arrived early to Moscow: so many red and yellow leaves falling on the ground.

I think it was a mistake for England rto react by playing the same games as the Columbians. Screaming at refs never changed a decision, let the captain complain. Similarly joining in the turning the 2nd half into an Olympic diving competition was a mistake. When challenged with childish behavior--take the high-ground.

One other point--one commentator described the incident that resulted in a penalty to England as a Rugby-like tackle. Let me tell you tackling a man off the ball like that in rugby is a BIG offense.
