For once he wasn't to blame...... Has been close to the mark on a few occasions though.

A messy race, but Hamilton prevails once again to increase his lead for the Championship. Eight retirements is the most this season in one race, and perhaps in many seasons.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/41299491

In our pool Pitsch had the best race once again with 14 points. The top three remain Pitsch, Pete and RZR.

Next up in two weeks is Malaysia. Short travel, but they'll need the time to repair all the car damage. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

Daniel Ricciardo brings Red Bull race car ‘home’ to Motor Museum WA at Whiteman Park

https://thewest.com.au/news/wa/ricciard ... b88605805z

The Formula 1 driver has given his first winning car to the museum.

He is WA’s nice guy of Formula One racing and he does it with his trademark smile.
And last night Daniel Ricciardo was grinning again as he helped to open an extension of the Motor Museum of WA at Whiteman Park.
On a short pit stop after his second place at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, Ricciardo visited the $2 million extension to unveil his 2014 Red Bull Racing car, which will be on display at the museum.

He said the car was of special significance to him because he drove it to his first F1 victory, in Montreal in June 2014.
“It was a breakthrough season for me and I had a few favours I could ask,” he said.

“One of them was if I could have the car and the team were happy to hand it to me. It’s got the engine in it from Renault too and I believe not all of them you get engines in for displays like this.”
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

Aston Martin to become Red Bull title sponsor in 2018

Red Bull will race as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing from the 2018 season after agreeing a new title and innovation partnership with the iconic car manufacturer.

The technical partnership will also see a new Advanced Performance Centre being established at Red Bull Racing’s campus later this year, enabling a closer working relationship between the two parties on both F1 and road car technology. The centre is expected to create 110 new jobs, as well as housing Aston Martin’s design and engineering personnel responsible for future sports cars from the two companies.

Aston Martin president and CEO Andy Palmer said his company could look to get further involved in F1 as an engine manufacturer, should conditions be right.

"Title partnership is the next logical step for our Innovation Partnership with Red Bull Racing," Palmer explained.

"We are enjoying the global brand awareness that a revitalised Formula One provides. The power unit discussions (in Formula One) are of interest to us, but only if the circumstances are right. We are not about to enter an engine war with no restrictions in cost or dynamometer hours but we believe that if the FIA can create the right environment we would be interested in getting involved."

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner hailed the strengthened partnership, adding: "Our Innovation Partnership with Aston Martin has been a pioneering project from day one. Having conceived and created the remarkably successful Aston Martin Valkyrie together in 2016, we extended our relationship this year and are now delighted to further strengthen the partnership and see the team competing as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in 2018.

"In addition, more than 100 Aston Martin staff will service the new Advanced Performance Centre on our campus here in Milton Keynes and it will allow us to collaborate further with Aston Martin on special, equally innovative, new projects."

The relationship between Aston Martin and Red Bull began in 2016 after the two companies combined to produce the ground-breaking Aston Martin Valkyrie, which is set to make its first run in 2018 before being delivered to customers the following year.

As a result of the new announcement, Aston Martin branding will feature 'prominently across the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team from the start of the 2018 season'.

Until now, I made my picks very close to the P2 results, which was very successful. But for this race I don't believe it will be wise to do so.

Enjoyed that one - cracking race from Verstappen/Red Bull and Vettel/Ferrari. Bit surprised with Merc struggling with straight line speed...... :?

Would be interesting to see exactly what happened with Vettel after the finish...

Hadn't realised Malaysia was pulling out of the F1 Calendar - will be sad to see it go.
