FA Cup history and memories

Post by arcadianagain »

By some unfortunate quirk I have access to Chelsea TV, flicking through the channels today I came across the final 15 minutes the FA Cup final 1970, Leeds v Chelsea. I saw it back in 1970, but a few things struck me that never came to mind 45 years ago. The Wembley pitch resembled a ploughed field making accurate passes nigh on impossible. the pace of the game compared to today was as if they were playing on the moon, some of the tackles were brutal which would have been an automatic sending off today. Ah, the good old days, or not?
