Woman's Rugby

Credit where credit is due. You don't hear/read much about these matches at all.

Women's Rugby World Cup: Ireland stun New Zealand

"Ireland inflicted New Zealand's first defeat in a World Cup for 23 years with a 17-14 victory in Marcoussis to virtually seal a semi-final place....."

I used to go to a 7s tournament at Richmond each year (even played once).
Every year they had 8 or so women's teams take part in their own competition. They were ferocious. Tackling by the hair, gouging with nails etc. I really do mean it. I wouldn't have wanted to referee any of those matches. It was quite a sight to behold.
NB: those "ladies" weren't exactly up to the same standard as those reported in Pete's article.
