First off, no new updates about Bianchi except that he underwent surgery, and it's a head injury. Let's wish him well and a speedy recovery.

Vital Spark had the best race with 18.5 points. The top 3 are now Pharvey, RZR and Pete.

Next weekend is Russia. Good luck to all. :thumb:

F1 driver Bianchi critical after crash

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport ... ter-crash/

Marussia Formula One driver Jules Bianchi is in a critical condition after crashing at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Frenchman was unconscious when he was taken to a nearby hospital following a crash during Sunday's rain-shortened race and was undergoing emergency surgery after a scan revealed a severe head injury.

According to FIA officials, the 25-year-old Bianchi will be moved to intensive care where he will be monitored after the surgery.

The race was red-flagged with nine laps to go after Bianchi went off at Turn 7, where Sauber's Adrian Sutil had crashed earlier.

The Sauber was being recovered by a crane when Bianchi went off.

Sutil indicated Bianchi's car had hit the crane.

"I aquaplaned," Sutil said. "The rain got more and more. One lap later with waved yellow flags, Jules came around and had the same spin there and that was it. It was the same crash but the outcome was different. The car came out to rescue my car and it all happened."

Sunday's race started at 3pm local time. An approaching typhoon led to suggestions that the race would be pushed up to an earlier start.

At the time of the crash, rain was falling steadily and it was getting dark. Several drivers complained of not being able to see properly.

The first nine laps were run behind a safety car and it started to rain heavily again near the end of the race.

Aside from the opening lap, hardly full of excitment - a great race by Hamilton (1st), great recovery by Rosberg (2nd) after a bad mistake at the start..... also great results for Bottas and Button (3rd and 4th respectively).

So, Hamilton takes the win and a 17 point lead over Rosberg in the Championship and Mercedes take the Constructor's title - BIG HAND :thumb:

I don't understand the logic of awarding double points for the last race. Imagine the same thing being done in the Premier league, which is often won by a point or two - it would make the whole season almost meaningless.

Are they really going to do that double point thing? I haven't read anything about it recently.

My personal opinion I think Rosberg expected to be the Mercedes Golden Boy. They're German and I'm German he says....or thinks. That could be some of the cause of his attitude/actions.

Hamilton is the better driver by far IMO. Look at the times he's come from back of the grid to place or win. Who else does things like that consistently? If his car stays healthy, he's got the championship for sure. Unless...the double point thing comes into play at the end and if it does and he loses by a hair....I would expect war. Pete
