Super 15 quarter finals, first match:

21 July Brumbies v Hurricanes 16-35

http://www.sanzarrugby.com/superrugby/m ... tch=517184

Was 16-15 in favour of the Brumbies at the half and the NZ team did what they seem to always do, totally control the 2nd half. Pete

Crusaders 17 Highlanders 0, which was also the halftime score. Crusaders into the semi-finals against whom to be determined later tonight.

Terrible weather and the Highlanders only arrived in Christchurch 7 hours before kickoff as all flights cancelled out of Dunedin all day Friday. https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/sup ... arterfinal

Diabolical weather for the game with constant sheets of rain and ankle deep ponds of water on the field. To give an example of the Highlanders night, at 50 minutes they had made 100 tackles to the Crusaders 38.

Last game in NZ for centre Malakai Fekitoa who heads to Toulon, which ends both his Highlander and All Black career. That's three ex-All Blacks at Toulon; Carter, Ma'a Nonu and now Fekitoa. Pete

Lions 23 Sharks 21

Chiefs 17 Stormers 11

Semi Finals July 29

Crusaders vs Chiefs

Lions vs Hurricanes

My prediction for the final is Crusaders vs Hurricanes, but it will be difficult for the Hurricanes to get past the Lions in SAF. Pete

FYI, this is what was going on in Christchurch last night as the game was in progress. 200MM of rain in a 24 hour period. Pete

^ Seems the weather's been crazy all around - the south of the UK (Cornwall) was hit with huge floods recently also.

Anywho, back to rugby! :thumb:

The Rugby Championship is comming up again in some 4 weeks or so  , and as such I've started (yet) another HHF Pool! All those who played previously should have been invited by Email, but if not, and for those who have not played previously, but are interested - details below: -

Crusaders 27 Chiefs 13. I'll post up the stats later when available and you won't believe that the Chiefs didn't win. They just couldn't score through the Crusader defense in the last 5 meters.

Hurricanes vs the Lions in SAF later tonight to decide who plays the Crusaders in the Final. Pete

In the second semi-final of the day the Hurricanes won the first half convincingly, but the Lions ate them for lunch in the second half, winning 44-29. The Hurricanes had 22 at the end of the first half and the lions 10, 7 of those 10 points coming in the last minute of play.

So the final is the Crusaders vs the Lions. I don't know the venue but I assume SAF as the Lions had the better regular season record. The Lions will beat the Crusaders if they play like they played today. Today's game stats later..... Pete
