^That's indeed a sad and scary statement... although that's getting near my lifespan so I may not have to put up with it for long. :D :D :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

While the growth in property is quite astounding the improvement in basic infrastructure is sadly lacking.

While I have lived in HH for many years I have only had two extended stays, one for 9 months the other for just over 12 months. I have never felt comfortable enough to commit to staying here permanently. While there are many things I really like about HH I find the lack of social activities a sever downside. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, golf but what else. I would really like get involved in soimething but that just does not seem to exist here, or maybe I am just not finding it.

I retired to a village between HH and Cha Am a year ago.

Living between the two places, it's only a 30 min. motorbike ride or B20 bus ride to either:

Hua Hin - Busy, vibrant and tuned in to providing everything for the retiree from abroad. I am able to visit and revert back to English culture for a day i.e. a hamburger, fresh coffee, and real (English) beer!

Cha Am - the other extreme. Slow, relaxed pace. Quite a sleepy beach front during the week, with bus from BKK arriving at the weekends. HH at half speed.

Building continues almost every where along the 25 kms between the two places. Maybe take some time to drive around and see what's being built? Lots of places to buy and rent on the internet. Any land/property between the main Phetkasem Road and the sea is unbelievably expensive!
