Ask Dr Michael
As of March 1st I will not be with the Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin.
I have enjoyed helping forum members with Health related questions and problems.
I will attempt to do the same at this new site. I am not an expert in all areas of Health Care , but will do my best.
I would prefer not to get into PMs unless the query is of a very 'delicate nature"
I would prefer not to discuss Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin.

At my post operative check-up at the hospital last week I was told that I will need a B12 injection every 6 months. Where will I get that done, and is it something I will need to arrange in advance please?

Is Dr Michael and Dr Mike the same Doctor? I note that Dr Michael only joined the forum recently?

It's been a few days since I asked Dr Michael a question (maybe it got lost in the subsequent questions). I think it's time to bump it.Big Boy wrote:At my post operative check-up at the hospital last week I was told that I will need a B12 injection every 6 months. Vit B12 is the classic Vitamin, you need it, but he that you need are incredibly small and twice a year is good. The hospital will give you the shot--check if drug stores will sell you the ampule, buy a syringe and give it to yourself.
By the way eating RAW liver is also a good way to get it!!!!!!

Why? Unless you very squeamish, it shouldn't really be a problem at all, and I'm sure at some pharmacies will sell you the goods you need. Alternatively, do as the fine doctor has said, and eat some raw liver.

Thank you Dr Michael.
Injecting myself is not a problem, having injected myself twice daily with Exenetide and twice daily with Insulin for a couple of years. However, those injections were into the stomach, which is easily accessible. I'm not sure an injection into the upper would be so easy.Dr Michael wrote:Vit B12 is the classic Vitamin, you need it, but he that you need are incredibly small and twice a year is good. I'm not sure that would work with me. The one bad side effect of the op is that my stomach is that it can't absorb B12. I guess that applies across the board, regardless of the source.Dr Michael wrote:By the way eating RAW liver is also a good way to get it!!!!!!

hi,
Why do your hospital prescript AMK 457, amoxillin to a 5 year old with the flue?

I understand your concern.
I am not working at the hospital any more.

I might be wrong, but I don't think it's Dr Mike's hospital. As far as I'm aware, it belongs to a large Thai company.

Dr Mike,
I have PM'd you with what to me is a very important question. I would be very grateful if you could give it urgent attention.
