I think you should reread the whole thread and then you may see that E-Dork or anyone else is not actually disagreeing with you on correct grammar and is saying that it is what he is experiencing in his working day as am I and others who live here.

I did not say that the thai word 'Kor' is incorrect when used for purchasing items, only that in my experience it is very rarely used unless it is when asking for something for free.

eg.

'Kor buri noi' - Can I have a cigarette.

'Kor yuum yi-sip baht dai mai' - Can I borrow 20 baht.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!
