Hi Hails - the air in HH is not as pollutted as in Bkk, so you may be able to go with just a light moisterizer with sunscreens most of the time. Light foundation without oil would also be okay. Buy what you need to last for a few months or the year - keep extra in the fridge. I'm not sure what you would be able to get in HH. I usually get some Thai herbal products for soaps and skin lotions. Just remember a good cleansing and moisterizing regiment at night and keep in mind that changing food and water may give you facial outbreaks - just hang in there and don't worry too much about it. Don't use soap on your face if your skinn is dry.

For you daughter, definitely sunscreens. Also, for both of you, sunglasses and hats - the sun get really strong during the day - you'll get tanned even with sunscreens on.....

Thanks Dara

Herbal products might be the way to go. I do have sensitive skin so hopefully everything in my new environment doesn't come out in my skin!

Look forward to the tan! I am very sun conscious as skin cancer is very common in NZ (being sun smart is highly campaigned here), but we do have a dodgy ozone layer so hopefully things aren't so bad in HH.

Gave up on foundation - just use a bit of concealer under the rest now & it looks OK, not too heavy. I hate waterproof mascara - can never get the damn stuff off! Panda eyes for the next 2 days! So I stick with the normal stuff!
We have a Boots (British Chemist) here now & being a Brit, I swear by their own brands (17 & no.7), or there's a Watson's chemists too & they stock a few brands, so make up is easier to come by than it was.
I'd love to meet up when you get here. Maybe for a drink!!

That of course depends upon the company you keep.

Good advice, especially for a youngster. Better still, keep out of the sun altogether. The Thais do and they have been here for millenia.

It always makes me cringe with disbelief when I see lobster resemblant farangs stolling along in the midday sun with no top on and wearing shorts.

All good advice. I might try out one of those tinted moisturisers rather than foundation.

I am definately sun smart, sunscreen and hats always happening!

Yes well I will definately let you know when I'm arriving!

We're all cross-dressers or katoeys. I'd suggest you get yourself into the right forum. Waiting with baited breath.

Hi! I'm a girl, not in Hua Hin until the end of the year though. :)
As of mid August I am on vacation via traveling around the globe and I am not returning until the end of November (I have no Internet access until I return). Have fun!

There are quite a few women on here now, including me. Not a katoey last time I looked, anyway!
I wouldn't want to ban the blokes from this part of the forum. Apart from some sexist remarks, I think it's good for us to be able to put in our opinion about relationships with BGs etc & them to give their opinion on "women's stuff!" :thumb:
