This may sound stupid but as long as the costs did not get too out of hand actually make a small profit and pay a small amount of tax.
I was aware of the fragility of the Thai Co route and one of the options was to rent out the house, not for the income, as I was not sure if the demand was there. But more as a reasurance to te authorities that it was a trading company.
