Room with kitchen?

Post by joejoe »

Hello everybody,
I'll stay in HH in June and I don't know a lot about the area.
Is it possible to find a room with kitchen and internet for 15000 baht per month?
Any advice?
Thanks
Joe

I think in June you could rent a good condo or house for 15000/month.

You can find a perfectly nice house for that price. You will have to spend a day or 2 driving around and looking for rental signs attached to the gate of the house that will have a phone number to call. You will get much more bang for your baht doing that than you will finding anything on the internet. That is my experience anyway and I assume many others.

joejoe,
around San Paulo hospital/grand night market area.
normally, the longer you agree to, the cheaper per month it becomes.

:agree: If you have a look round this forum, you'll see that this is the advice given to anyone thinking of a stay in Hua Hin for more than a month or two.
You'll be extremely lucky to find value for money on the Internet, the only way is to have a look round. It shouldn't take more than a few days.
If your accommodation budget is 15k per month, you have a wide choice. If you really only want a room, you won't have to spend anything like that much.

Thank you, I'll have a look around that area.
One important thing: I need a reliable and fast internet connection.
Any advice?
Any place to avoid?

Thailand...

No, seriously, I depend on the Internet and by and large it does me fine, but the connection is unlikely to be 'fast' by western standards regardless of the speed you pay for, though this varies from hour to hour and day to day.
Nor is it always reliable as there are the inevitable power outages to cope with. To be fair, these are getting rarer in my experience, but we are nearing the stormy season, which makes a difference.

Many apartment-style rooms over the railway crossing & to the right up Soi 88 Joejoe..these condo-type places are full in high season, but anfternoon trawling up this 1 road alone will have you checking out up to 8-9 places..all quite new..

That's what I'm planning to do too, but do you need to speak some thai in order to do that? Or do most landlords speak some English?
