Southern Industrial Estate?

Post by PeteC »

Go to a Google map for Cha Am. To the southwest you'll see a shaded area named "Southern Industrial Estate Songkhla Provincial". Is that really there?

I've looked up the estate and the listings show it far to the south in Songkhla Province, not between Cha-am and Hua Hin. Could it be a branch site? Pete

Ok, here's more on this. The map location, zoom out to see location relative to Hua Hin and Cha Am, then change to satellite view:

It appears that the infrastructure is in place, but no buildings? The questions are, why the strange name, and what will they eventually produce there, heavy industry, petrochemical, electronics?

I have a friend who is looking at some land in the nearby area and he can find out nothing about it from speaking to locals and the government land people he has spoken to so far.

It should be a concern if it's going to generate pollution for the area in the future. Pete
