Post by buksida »

Oh the irony ...

Gen Prayut fires anti-money laundering chief
Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) secretary-general Pol Maj-Gen Romsith Viriyasan has been fired in a lightning order issued today by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha in his capacity as head of the National Council for Peace and Order.

The NCPO chief invoked Section 44 of the interim Constitution removing Pol Maj-Gen Romsit to the Prime Minister’s Office to assume an inactive post as a special inspector-general.

Junta sets up a 17-member anti-corruption board
The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has announced the formation of a 17-member National Anti-Corruption Committee to fight the scourge of corruption in government bureaucracy.

The new anti-graft body is dominated by active and former senior military officers who make up NCPO and include members of the private sector who have been involved in campaigns against corruption.
