Attemped Murder of Farang in Hua Hin.

Post by JamesWest »

I don't post on this forum anymore, but I was wondering why this story is not being covered on this forum? Last Saturdays stabbing at the Blue Monkey bar on Soi Poolsuk, in Bintabath.
I really like this forum because there are no personal attacks. All the members contribute in a positive way to my posts.

The article that's been deleted also said that the Egyptian guy had been released after paying 200,000 bail.

The 'article that's been deleted' is as reliable as 'the word on the soi'. While it makes interesting reading, please be aware that it might not be accurate, and does not reflect the views of this forum. We prefer such statements to be supported by a reputable news source.

I can't claim it's a reputable source, maybe one of our Scandinavian membes can comment but understandably the Norwegian press have picked up the story in a number of online news articles.

Below with the help of google translate is one of the reports

…………………………………………………………………………….
http://www.dagsavisen.no/roganytt/stava ... t-1.676785

Stavanger-man Øyvind E. Rossbach was planning to have gone back to Norway in late January.

However, when RA talked to Rossbach Tuesday he was still bedridden in a hospital in Hua Hin in Thailand.

According to Rossbach, on Friday night he had an argument with two men at a bar in Hua Hin.

He decided to walk away and leave the bar

According to Rossbach and eyewitnesses, one man picked up a big knife from behind the bar counter

After this he chased after me and stabbed me twice, the second stab wound penetrated his left lung, which caused him to fall in together on the tarmac

Fortunately there were friends and acquaintances around me and i managed to stay conscious, Thanks to their quick decisions I came to the hospital in time, says Rossbach and adds:

According to Rossbach the perpetrator was arrested the next day at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok after he tried to flee the country with his Thai girlfriend and with financial help from her mother.

After this he was moved back to Hua Hin where he detained for two days before his "future mother in law" paid bail his bail.

So now actually this man is on the loose with full opportunity to stab again!

I have asked that the Embassy sends a representative here to assist in the case. This is to assure me that Thai police handle the case correctly, says Rossbach.
He believes that the offender should have been locked up until he is rehabilitated and the case begins in court system because of destruction of evidence danger, because he may try to run away again and not least because he can be a great danger to society, says Rossbach.

Rossbach has been in contact with a lawyer in Stavanger with a view to a future action for damages.
RA talked to the lawyer who thinks that it is too early to say anything on the matter.

thank you.

the story came out of the other big, successful forum, you know, the one where the mods know when a forum member is being unjustly attacked and do something about it. :)

anyway, i guess the victim will be ok. he was taken to san paulo hospital. the knife missed his heart by a few centimeters. and the perp was of course released on bail. he was only arrested for assault, because stabbing someone in the back twice in Thailand is not attempted murder.

Wait. "stabbing someone in the back twice in Thailand is not attempted murder." This just gave me a new insight to my experiences on this forum. Maybe i will start posting again.
