Neil Burty, I spent couple of summers in Brighton in my teans in mid seventies. I still follow how the Seagulls are doing although I´m an Arsenal supporter. At the moment the Seagulls are certainly doing much better than some years ago. By the way I really did like Brighton but as my last visit there was in -89, it must have changed a lot. What´s the place like now?

GOOD OLD SUSSEX BY THE SEA!

Post by Neil Burty »

Bamboo,

EXPENSIVE is the 1st word i would use.....house prices are mental!

but really it is a great town....i would go as far as to say 1 of the best in the uk! nightlife is superb if you like all that....restaurants equally as good...trendy bars, hippy scene, gay scene, coffee shops, deli's everywhere...basically v.v.v 'cosmo'

it veered away from the 'kiss me quick' image in the late eighties and has got progressively better since.....only problem with that is everyone wants to live here! :cuss:

i live in the Marina. lagoon view an'all so not too bad.....

The Albion battle out a few good results here and there (not pretty) to try to stay up, then maybe get this bloody stadium built, never ending saga, a :guns: Prescott....twat...say no more.....
with that and staying in the Championship we should be okay!

don't forget though BHA FC were in the FA cup final in 1983 against the scum and in div 1 the same year!!!! must have been around then!!!!

how do you remember the town?

oh by the way we are one Pier short than u will remember....was gradually falling down then someone set light to it TWICE! rumours have it that it was the owners of the now "Brighton Pier" (was Palace pier) who did not want to see the West Pier saved and developed....that would have been tooooo! much competetion....bastards

ciao

Wow,
Reckon I'll pack my bags now and head for that place called Brighton.
Can't understand what I've been missing out on all these years in Thailand.
Probably the seagulls. Seems too warm for them over here :D

Just for Bangkokney

Post by PeteB »

To quote that Oracle (or is it orifice?) of sport 'The Sun';
Nobody could argue that Leeds did not deserve a point.

The visitors felt justice had been done after Pike had somehow missed Anton Ferdinand’s first-half trip on Danny Pugh and home defender Darren Powell’s handball just moments before the hotly-disputed equaliser.
Possibly the ref should be training the "men in brown" :P

PS Nice to have you back.
