This house was on the market for over $450,000 back in 2007.
It was a spec home, which means it was being built by a
housing company to sell as is, once finished. No choice of the
colors inside or out. No choice of the finish in the house, such as
tile versus carpet floors, or trim and rails inside on the stairs
etc. No choice of the color of the kitchen areas, or bathrooms.
After purchase the owner has to fix up the yard, by planting grass
or laying sod, sidewalks, build a fence, build sheds, gazebos,
and inside, develop the basement, and inside the garage, as both are
completely bare except insulation in the basement.
Seven years later the place is worth almost $500,000 if the markets
stay the way there are. At least in this city the prices are still good,
But for HHF, how would you like to sell this place in the Winter!
Note, I have 6 people who would object to this, and I am only the husband.

Re: A Canadian house story.
Looks nice when finished.
I would assume that anyone shopping for a house up there would know what to expect in winter....
That's one reason we chose the area we did to move back to. It's on the same latitude as where I grew up but one state over, so I know what to expect from the weather.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
