Hate to say this but until you guys lose the Swede it ain't gonna happen. He was a sorry excuse for a manager tonight....those who saw it know what I'm saying.

Still....it's meant to rain Sat and Sun so the Ashes should be assured. Pity, as it was gonna be the most nail biting piece of drama we may have witnessed in many a year.

Tally ho.

Heebio, at least we have a good chance in the cricket, if the statement I have read in the morning papers her in Australia is anything to go by.

Ricky Ponting (Aus Captain) has come out in the paper today, asking people not to blame him if the Aussies loose the test and ashes series.
Lets all hope that the rest of the team go out with the same defeatist attitude as him.

Must admit it has been a long time between drinks for us to be able to have anything to cheer about over here with the cricket.

With the football, at least I think that we can still win the group if we win the last two games (one being against Poland and I think Austria), but after the last 3 games, who knows.

I also think that you will be spot on about the manager if the results do not go our way.
If that does happen, who will they get this time.....

Absolutely. Get the Swede out of Blighty and return him to his natural environment

I hear that there may be an unemployed Irishman on the market who has is the past performed miracles with Leicester and Celtic.

Of course all this is a dream, I have just seen that Scotland beat Norway. What will the score be when I wake up.

Chelsea, there's nothing I'd like to see more than England winning the series.

Before it started I honestly thought, weather permitting, the Aussies would streak it. But England have been fantastic and thoroughly deserve to win it - but for dropped catches and a determined tail end hold out, they should be 3-1 up already.

I just hope the rain stays away and we're entertained to a final test that lives up to the rest of the series. It's a tough act to follow!

Oh, and some how or other Scotland played Norway off the park....dunno what Smith's putting in their tea but if he'd replaced that muppet Vogts a year earlier we might have had a chance of qualifying. Very unlikely now.

Optimism beyond belief. If you read the novel Red Dwarf (upon which the TV series was based or vice versa) it states that in three million years in the future, the greatest inventors on earth (i.e. the Scots) have perfected genetic engineering in humans to such a degree that they manage to create a goalkeeper that is 22 feet wide and 8 feet tall. However they still had never managed to qualify for the World Cup Finals.

Heh heh....it was probably written by a Scot.

Was discussing the potential UK olympic football team in the boozer last night. We came to the conclusion that even given that all of England's 2008 Euro Championship squad wouldn't be available for selection, they're still wouldn't be a Scot in the squad....and rightly so on present form.

Saying that, Phil Neville still gets in the England squad. :?

Heh heh....buckin pathetic but that's the way it is. At least we know we're shite.

What a night but completely true to form. Waynker Rooney (twat of the century) sent of just for being himself, and completely letting his side down yet again. Looks like yet another silverless season for the Manckies.

As for the second English team, the Gooners, yet another sending off, this time a little uncharateristic of Robin van Persie leaving his seasoned compatriate to clear up the mess.

So just like last season it's Liverpool and Chelsea carrying the English flag to Europe.

I just hope the stupid Swede has been watching all of the England hopefuls and makes sure that nobody who wears a Manu shirt can ever wear one for England.
