Magaritas

Post by TingTongJohn »

I just wanted to say I found the food at Margaritas in Hua Hin excellent. I have wanted to go for a while and we did last week end and I did enjoy it.

Can you be more specific. What was so good about it, how did it excel over other restaurant food, what did you have to eat and what was the bin?

I do not find Margaritas expensive at all. I find it very reasonable. I guess if you drink alot it might turn out expensive. Please say what you order and how much it was. Go eat at Mex and you will find what expensive is.

Tried it last night, it was good. The host is friendly and the margarita's tasty. The Quesadillas were very good though the nachos were only average. I would love to see Sunrise Tacos open a franchise in Hua Hin their food is great and they are open for lunch.

Very friendly owners, food pretty good, but when paying top baht for a margarita it would be nice to have some tequila in it....

I would have to agree with you on Sunrise Tacos..There is one near our home in Min Buri at the new mall called the Promenade..I found it very good. You could get any number of their different salas to try which was nice. :thumb:

I like sunrise taco's, but would have to say they were better a few years back.
Still good though and in BKK they deliver 24 hours a day.

As far as Mexican restaurants and this one in particular, I would not go back for the food or drinks. The owner/host was friendly and did ask about our meal, but knowing how things usually go when I complain, I decided against it and just won't return.

First, the drinks, margaritas specifically, have no alcohol in them as another poster noted. I went with two other friends and all were the same so it wasn't just mine. Mostly margarita mix, ice, and I couldn't even detect a trace of tequila. Bleh. One of us got the frozen strawberry margarita. Lots of strawberry flavor, also no alcohol.

Second, the food. I had the quesadillas, one of my friends had the enchiladas, and I can't remember what the other person had.

The quesadillas were basically cheese and chicken. Neither particularly tasty. At least it was somewhat warm. I imagine straight out of the microwave to melt the cheese. Usually these should be prepared on a flat top grill to melt the cheese, making it a little crispy on the outside. Mine was soft and the moisture on the plate underneath the quesadillas tend to indicate being microwaved and making it a bit wet on the bottom. Needless to say, not delicious. I did however enjoy the salsa, but I most certainly wouldn't return for this.

The other two dishes my friends had both came out cold and according to them, also not delicious. After all, who likes to eat cold Mexican food?

It goes without saying more, that I wouldn't go back to this place even if you were paying and would strongly recommend that you take your baht elsewhere.

Been there many times but never tried the margaritas. Really, they have no alcohol in them! Is that possible? Surely worth a polite complaint to the owner!

The owner was friendly and asked about the meal, but instead of pointing out problems to him there and then, you trash the place on an open forum....... sorry, shan't be taking your advice and will visit the place myself on my next visit.

This thread is about Margaritas near the night market

I have eaten there many times and never a problem. Good food served hot. Having said that, nobody is perfect. The owner is a genuinely nice guy and should have been given the opportunity to make things right.

The saying is that the customer is always right, but there are some people who are never happy.

I realize that I could have pointed out the problems there and then, but did I really want another microwaved quesadilla? That was not something that they were likely to fix properly even if I did point this out.

I have to ask though, is it only proper to post reviews of a place if they are full of glowing compliments?

Do visit though, but don't say I didn't warn you.
