Xbox media center (XBMC/Kodi) setup
Xbox media center (XBMC/Kodi) setup
Several people I have spoken to have mentioned installing xbmc and Navi-X on my computer to access UK television. It stands for xbox media centre. It gives you access to music, movies and much much more. Although I am not a complete novice with computers I am having a few problems. I have downloaded several versions of xbmc and it is happening with all of them. I have followed all the tutorials on Youtube but I get lost after about 30 seconds because most of the dropdown menus within File Manager are not there. Can anyone help?

I guess you're trying to get it for free, but are you aware of Thai Expat TV that costs less than £3 a week, and gives perfect viewing? It is available for free trial.

In File Manager, I have a Fusion Menu but in the Root B Menu when you are supposed to click on Fusion, you get a drop down menu that includes International, ios, livestream, music and a few others including "video". These do not appear. All the tutorials mention clicking on the "video" and it gives you access to more add-ons etc. All the versions - Eden, Frodo and now Gotham do not give me these options.
Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
So you have successfully downloaded and installed xbmc , but you're having problems with installing the navi-x plugin?

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
No this has nothing to do with Navi-X as I know already it is down. I have gone through the
installing of Fusion. But when you go into File Manager and go to Root B and open Fusion there are supposed to be several entries including International, ios, Livestream and music and video. If you go into all the Youtube Tutorials it shows these entries but I dont get them. I have tried 3 different versions of xbmc and also deleted it and reinstalled but it still the same.

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
Doesn't seem like the fusion I have. I recently reinstalled xbmc and followed the instructions on this page found by googling ”xbmchub fusion-easy-addon-installation-for-xbmc/”.
Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
I've had a quick read of the tutorials I found online and I don't think you're supposed to go to file manager once the add-on has been installed.
You need to go to the context menu for "Video" (if I remember correctly you get to the context menu by pressing the down arrow while 'Video' is highlighted, if using the default skin) then select 'Add-Ons' from the context menu and you should find navi-x there.
I could be wrong; haven't used XBMC in ages, and never used naxi-x.

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
Morning guys, I think we are at cross purposes. I am not unduly concerned by not having Navi-X as it is down. A fix is coming soon. I have loads of stuff working already within xbmc. My problem concerns the sub menu in Fusion. In File Manager after you have installed Fusion and you come out and then go to Systems/Settings/ Go into Add-ons in the Confluence Page. Select Install from zip file and click on Fusion. A dropdown menu appears that includes International, ios, music and video that are missing from mine.
Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
I'm not altogether sure what you are trying to do. However, this is what file manager view looks like in my XBMC setup after clicking fusion in right hand side (B). You can also see the source is http fusion xbmchub com and the maincontent is xbmc repos, where many repositories have been bundled.
Hope this is helpful. Or you could try giving more detail, such as what URL you assigned to fusion.
Cheers.
Then going to system/settings/add-ons/install from zip file produces this
Then click fusion in right pane.
Then on clicking xbmc repos you can see the list of repositories.
The name "fusion" is arbitrary and it's used for whatever you assigned it to when you specified the source (system/file manager/add source). In my case I assigned "fusion" to xbmchub. You may well have specified a different URL for your fusion source in which case you would have a different directory under fusion and a different list of repositories available.Hope this is helpful. Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
Unfortunately as I am a new member I am not allowed to post a URL to show you exactly what I get to what I was expecting to get, but if you go into Youtube and enter "installing Fusion on xbmc" there are several links showing this missing dropdown list including livestream and video that I am talking about. If it is something that has recently been changed or upgraded then why does it also happen when I had Eden and Frodo versions of xbmc installed?
Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
OK, I did a search on installing fusion on xbmc, and checked out the first 3 you tube videos. None of them are exactly right now. The first two run hub wizard, but it's now slightly different. The third video, which showed a long list of repos is now not correct, I think. XBMC is pretty dynamic. Many add-ons are available via xbmchub and the xbmc hub wizard. If you have installed fusion already and can get to the third snapshot in my post above, click on start-here. Then select plugin.video.hubwizard. Then go to programs and run the config wizard, which is what you just enabled. This is similar to what the 1st 2 you tube videos google found show. From the position in snapshot 4 above you can install other repos which aren't automatically added.
My list of available video add-ons includes Livestreams and many, many more. Plenty of music add-ons too though I didn't actively install any music repos.
You can post anything after 10 posts. A screenshot would be most helpful. But I think that if you follow the above you should be OK.

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
Thai Expat TV is a lot easier!!
Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
I'll agree with that, although it is more expensive (than free). I don't use XBMC very much anyway because I find that after an hour or so my link starts being throttled down to unwatchable. At least that doesn't happen with expat tv or any other iptv from in country.
