Mobile phones in Hua Hin.

Post by carlito »

I will be coming back to Hua Hin next month (if anyone wants me to bring anything within reason, just ask) and wanted to make use of a mobile phone. I was wondering if I bring my UK phone would I be able to use a one-2-call phone card in it?

Any help would be appreciated ;)

Yes you can use your UK phone in Thailand as long as it's not locked or restricted by your UK telecom provider.
If you can make use of different sim-cards in the UK, you can use 1-2 call here in Thailand.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Yes you should be okay using your phone with one 2 call, when i was there in October, I payed 750Bhat, this was for my new number and 500Baht of air time.

The service is very good and cheap compared to here in the U.K.

You can get any phone unblocked for about 200/300 baht ! Most of the "off high street" shops have this "service" !!!

hi
usually the uk networks such as orange/t-mobile/virgin lock there phones to there network as said before these can be unlocked for 200/300 baht
vodaphone and o2 are usually not locked (sim free) so a sim card can be dropped into them and used straight away
just incase the expats over there havent registered there sim cards with the relevent networks/bodies they might be without service very soon as you need to register the sim card with the network/bodies this is a step to avoid terrorisum
cheers
