Google Earth

Post by linktolinh »

I found it's exciting to use Google Earth to search out places in the world, sometime the result is amazing! I can search out a single house in the middle of nowhere * but sometime it's impossible for me to find out a route from places to places.

is there anybody can show me some more tricks to use GE please,
I'm adorable crazy ! :-)

What do you need to know specifically?

Thanks for promt reply, I want to check the road (if it's possible) to go from Chiang Rai to Luang Phrabang.

How can I see the map from the side view.

Ah by the way when I want to find a place like AIT in Khlong Luang, I can not get access to it. Even I can see 2 golf courses near by but I can not reach the AIT on map.

Why the quality of pictures are so different from places to places?

First answer is no, very unlikely. The best way to do that journey is by river from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang, its a nice journey, especially if you get on one of those cargo boats and take it easy.

The info comes from US intelligence satellites which is why some places are in great detail and others you cant find. Try Baghdad, you can spot cars in a carpark on that one

The first answer is no. The connection speed will only affect the time it takes you to download the image.

The second is more complicated. The images generally come from orbital satelites. Most of these,if not all, are owned by the USA. The USA are very paranoid about publishing images that may give clues to people that they see as ther enemy. I used to live next to a US air force base in California and could never see my house. However I could see very clearly the office where I worked and the local village.
