Re: VPN Recommendations and Discussion

One of my big gripes with Express VPN was there would be extended periods when I couldn't access ITV or BBC.

I have been receiving a familiar message using Nord today when trying to access ITV. Everything else looks fine. ITV keeps throwing this back at me:

Is it just me, or is there a problem with accessing ITV today please?

I’ve tried using my iPhone and iPad and it wouldn’t work for me either - I’ll try my laptop later and report back if that works!!

When I tried originally my message said “it’s a problem at our end” so maybe it was ITV not Nord?

I have worked out what the problem was. Neither ITV nor Channel 4 will work whilst my ad blocker is switched on. OK, a niggle, but not a show stopper. It would be nice if there was a way of excluding ITV and Channel 4 from the ad blocker. Does anybody know if this is possible please? If yes, how?

Every ad blocker I've used, has a way to exclude specific sites. The exact steps vary, based on which ad blocker it is but with all of them, you start by clicking on the ad blocker icon on the top bar. From there, there should be an option to to exclude either the current page or the entire site.

Thank you. That is what I've always understood as well. Maybe I need to change my ad blocker.

My Nord VPN has been getting progressively worse when trying to view ITV. It has been worsening for a couple of weeks now, and is currently as bad as the Express VPN service I was getting before I dumped it.

Is anybody else suffering similar problems or maybe even knows how to resolve my problem?

I watched a one hour programme on ITV tonight (Protection) without any problems, although I have been experiencing problems for the past few days - the programme would stop part way through, but I put that down to our internet rather than the VPN, but it could have been either?

Your problem sounds similar to mine, although mine is stopping 4 or 5 times for an hour's programme. Additionally, its only happening on ITV.

It mentioned that it had detected an ad-blocker - most times if I changed the location it would then work, but on at least one occasion I had to restart my laptop and then it worked ok - a bit frustrating but such is life - but tonight it was fine!!

Thank you - that's it. I mentioned that same problem a few months back, and had forgotten all about it. It must be an old age thing :D.
