The Food Factor
The Food Factor
I'm Thinking of adding another category to the bar ratings as a lot of places now do food also. Any thoughts on this?
Lev,
My view.
The idea is good - for both 'out of towners' and locals I would think. It could be difficult though, because there is great subjectivity - type of food may not appeal, even though the quality & price may be good.
'Out of towners' would probably be interested in type of food (Thai, French, German, Fast etc) followed by quality, ambience and price, but locals may have a different view.
Whatever is decided I'm sure that this would be a valuable addition to the site, which I think is great. Judging by the posts many others, who are not part of the local Hua Hin 'community', also find the forum very helpful
Thanks for your efforts!
Peter

food
i lived in hh for almost 2 years and the level of local knowledge among expats was close to 0. for example the dusit has a buffet on weekends that is a the equal to most bkk high end hotels. no one ever went there i knew. so lev this idea is excellent for vacationers as well as locals. do it!

I agree it would be a welcome addition to the site Lev. I love the night market food stalls, but reviews of other places to eat would be appreciated. These forums are a great way to find the great little out of the way spots that visitors like me might never locate. It would also be nice to know which places to avoid as well.
Everyone has different tastes, and standards ! A recommendation, or equally, a report of a bad experience is worth reading. I will eat anywhere from the excellent rooftop restaurant in the Hilton, to the most modest night market cafe and enjoy each experience on its merits. Every restaurant has an off-day but one too many can cause trade to evaporate in a jiffy, if word gets out !
I read avidly about reports of HH restaurants etc and believe that the dissemination of information in this forum is of great value to all members.

Thanks for all the feed back.
We are in the process of creating an accommodation section which will include guesthouses and bars that double as guesthouses by having rooms.
We dont currently have the capacity to review all the restaurants in town and, as previously mentioned everyone has their own taste. Bars that also serve food will get a mention though. Any special findings can be posted in the 'Feeding Time' section of the forum.
