Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
We have found an app that is compatible with the forum software and will run on Android devices and Apple's iOS.
It is called Forumrunner: http://www.forumrunner.com/
The drawback is that the app you need to download to access the forum is not free:
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... orumrunner
Apple: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/forum-ru ... 27234?mt=8
The app costs $2 (it goes to the developers, not us).
This poll is to ascertain if you, our readers and contributors, would be interested in it as our tech gurus can install the software quite easily at our end if there is enough demand.

Re: Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
When I finally get myself smartphone or a tablet it will be a definite yes for me. Hopefully not too long now!
Re: Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
tapatalk is the generally accepted software for mobile forum access. It's compatible with phpBB and while the main app is paid for there are free third party clients for Android at least (not sure about iPhone)
Re: Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
This app is 50% more expensive so lets see the response to the original question before considering alternative software shall we.

I voted yes. I think it's a great thing to have available as people's needs change due to travel or whatever. 60 baht is one beer . Pete

I was going to ask if such a beast was available the next time I saw you. It's a definite yes from me.

Voted yes. Visiting HHAD/HHForum through the web can be a pain in the @rse.... probably because I'm a useless git whilst using smartphones etc.
Personally, love the site and the majority of members who provide great info., discussion & help.

Re: Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
Up to you. Forum Runner forces you to pay for an app whereas tapatalks own app is more expensive but there are free alternatives, and it has open api.Lev wrote:This app is 50% more expensive so lets see the response to the original question before considering alternative software shall we.

I'm using my Samsung Tab 10+ right now, and can't see the need for an app to keep me up to date.
Maybe you'll need it if using a smaller screen.
However; I can't take part in the poll so I maybe have to install the app?

I was able to take part in the poll on mine Norseman and I don't have an app for the forum. Maybe try again?

Yup, you're right. I observed it just a second before I posted.traveller2 wrote:

Re: Hua Hin Forum on smartphones and tablets
I limit my iPhone apps to just email, messages and phone calls. Since I get an email about topics I am following, there is no need to be in constant touch with the Forum. I enjoy reading the various topics at my leisure. Nothing urgent on the Forum that I would need to stay in instant touch with. Just my thoughts. It is not a cost issue. I don't mind paying the 60 baht, I would just not use it.
I wouldn't have to manage my anger if people could learn to mange their stupidity!

Nearly suggested tapatalk a few days ago, it's alright. You ain't got a link on it yet though. I think Richards massive sausage fingers could navigate that..
