Saturday

Post by Big Boy »

Saturday is the day that I like to relax after a hard week's work  , sit by the TV to watch the sport, and join in with a discussion on HHAD on my laptop. Unfortunately, I would guess on at least 40 Saturdays per year (probably more) nobody else comes out to play

I would guess Saturday postings are probably at least 50% less than any other day in the week, and I was wondering why.

- Is this the day your wives/husbands and girlfriends/boyfriends drag you shopping?

- Do you all party on a Saturday?

- Do your wives/husbands and girlfriends/boyfriends insist that you leave the computer alone for one day each week?

- Or is there another, less obvious reason that the number of posts is dramatically down on a Saturday?

I'd be very interested to hear your responses.

Hallo There Big Boy

I would go for the first one!

- Is this the day your wives/husbands and girlfriends/boyfriends drag you shopping?

Market Village Chopping Mawl was so crowded and the underhround parking spots full and it ain't even Noon.

Actually it doesn't matter what day it is cause on HHAD I love to Post no matter what day and times it took place!

I don't see any difference in the days. In London all those years ago, Saturday was the important one. I got up after a "hard" week's work and a good few beers on Friday but tried to clean some parts of my house and whizz around getting food in. I'd normally be finished at around midday. Then "happy times" until Monday morning.

There is no difference for me; when I'm here in Thailand all days are equal as I don't have any set routine, and when I'm away working I work a full day on saturdays.

OK, so Sarge has noticed the trend, and US isn't bothered either way. The rest think it's like any other day.

If the sample so far is representative, why is there a significantly reduced activity on Saturday's? I don't understand it.

BB, the members that don't post on a saturday probably won't get around to explaining why until tomorrow!
I've noticed it gets very quite on saturday evening, but I suppose that is because they are out somewhere.

Saturday

Post by margaretcarnes »

Saturdays are much same same as other days in LOS unless people have proper jobs!
Over here in Sleepy Hollow I go out on the razz midweek, so catch up with food shopping and ironing (sorry to use the 'I' word guys) on Saturdays. Then catch up with the telly.

Yesterday of course was the one very special Saturday in the year, with an important horse race to watch.

So the only explanations I can think of for Slack Saturdays in LOS are Friday bingeing. Saturday bingeing. Or early nights before Sunday golf!

I'd say Saturday evenings in Thailand are probably affected by both going out and/or people watching the footie - I certainly hardly ever post on a Saturday after whatever time the first match is on. Daytime though could well be a combination of the things you list BB, as well as one more, which is maybe people in HH go away for the weekend, somewhere like Bang Saphan, or possibly to relatives - for many it is the only time they have either because they work or their partners do.

Although all answers have been good, the most logical reason that I've seen so far is Georgy Porgy's thoughts about a lot of people posting from their workplace - that could explain such a large downturn in Saturday posting (Sundays are also quieter, but not as bad as Saturdays).

Thanks guys.
