Expand your Business

Post by russdo1 »

Do you speak English and sell a product or service? Are you interested in expanding your business and circle of influence? Be part of a group to help the non Thai speaking satisfy their every day needs while living in the greater Hua Hin area. There is no cost to join. [ Edited by Admin ]

Not sure I can allow this unless you elaborate a little more. Is it an advertisement, spam, get rich quick scheme or what?

Please read the terms and conditions and the media kit if you wish to promote a product or service for business purposes on this board.

Thanks.

None of the above

Post by russdo1 »

It is none of the above. I am trying to put together a networking group of English speaking people so we can help each other sell our products and services. Being a non Thai speaking Hua Hin resident it can be hard finding a locksmith, printer, handyman etc. who speaks English or good enough English to understand what it is you need. I want to put together a group so we can all recommend each others services. As I said in the ad, there is no charge to join.

How do you determine which services to use then? And how will these businesses reward you for sending them so much trade.

The idea of the forum is also to share information but we often find that people abuse it which is why we have more strict guidelines now.

Back in the states it's known as a "Networking Group". Members would be English speaking and honest, selling products and/or services needed by the English speaking community. We would each be rewarded by hopefully getting more business. As one member is out selling his/or her services he would ask "by the way are you in need of this service or that product"? If the answer was positive he would then explain his networking group and ask if it would be OK if the member that sold that particular service/product contacted them. In other words its a way to expand your sales force while helping the other group members do the same. Networking groups are very popular all over the world.

Sounds like a good idea to me in theory, provided members don't take advantage and up their prices.

The benefit is in increasing everyones business, it is not in taking advantage of the consumer.

I'm not a business owner nor am I involved in any business related activities. However the idea stated would be useful in that it might consolidate a number of recommendations for services, English friendly business etc, and provide some personal experience of what might be looked for in judging if you are being truly helped or led a bit astray for another's gain.

I know that a heads-up to what might be a typical minor (or major) situational scam would have saved me enough baht to pay for a visa run!

One of my many challenges: how much do you "tip" someone who helps you out? I've had a lot of unbidden help that sent me on more way than nessary, circuitous paths ultimately complicating matters, and as end result costing me time and money. I've had this done far too many times! I have a story about involving several Thais who befriended me and "helped" me obtain my Thailand driver's license. It's a looong story.

It'd be good to have some personally tested, fairly reliable sources to consider beforehand. No guarantees, and apply info at your own risk.

Well, likely I'm off topic.
But I support the concept proposed. Integrity is key.

It sounds as if you have been quite unlucky with your unbidden help.

I'm sure there are a number of members of this forum who could help you with advice on just about any aspect of setting up life in HH. Although I have only lived here for two years, I have encountered and dealt with many of the problems that confront expats. Of course, I have not always come out on top!!

However, for example, obtaining my driving license was simple, since I already had a current license from California. I had to take a couple of physical aptitude tests (I am approaching elderly), and pay the fee (Baht 105). The whole process took one hour.

How can we help you??
