Just to let all you 'bookies' know, one of our advertisers, Ye Olde Buffalo Tavern, has started a book club; you pay a 300 baht one off refundable deposit to join (which you get back if/when you leave) and then every time you take a book you pay 50 baht, and that money goes towards buying more books for the collection. Not a book swap but in between your swaps when you are running out of material it is a much cheaper option than buying new books. They already have quite an extensive range which will only get bigger over time, and it may also be worth considering taking your excess books down there to add them in. See their ad in AWOL or on here for contact/address details or PM Bill, Lorraine or Nic on HHAD to (buffalo) bill user name.

On the subject of books, I was in the Bookazine shop opposite the Sofitel today and they have a sale on with one rack priced at 195 bt, which makes their second-hand section look a bit overpriced.
There are no outstanding works of literature there, but some reasonable beach material to be had.

Anyone ever figure out where the lady went who owned the book shop in Satukarn square? Before they leveled it she told me she was looking for a new location, but I never got back to her before the demolishing started so I don't know where she ended up ... :(

HH, I've seen a new second-hand bookshop on that short angled road opposite the railway station that mainly has local food restaurants on it; I haven't been in, but I think it must be her as someone else said she was moving near the station.

I'll plod down with the virtual Blockbuster movie filled hard drive if anyone wants to take a laptop (PC) to copy stuff.

See the big list in the movie thread in entertainment section for the index of whats on there.

IT would help promote your August 15 swap if more information was provided.

think of all the readers who just tuned in and have no idea where this place is.

I would like to know location and directions.

thanks

Paul,

It's in square c9 on this map http://www.huahinafterdark.com/hua-hin-map.htm. Dicks Office is about half way up Soi 80 on the left.
