Still nothing - Thailand really excels with new IT systems. I guess so long as everybody is in the same boat, don't worry.

DD was paid in July, in an amount that suggests the June payment was included.

Thanks for that. Maybe they've read the meters again. I'll try to pay a bit more tomorrow. I'll update whether we're successful or not.

Big Boy wrote: Mon Jun 24, 2024 9:33 am We've been down there, and they have significant problems. They only have data to the end of April, so that is all that we could pay. I guess they must be using some sort of guesstimate for those paying by direct debit.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel regarding when the 'improved' system may work. Advice was to return next month, and they MAY have data for the next month's water.

We didn't learn anything new.
We returned this morning. They did indeed have a little more information. They had a meter reading from 22 Apr to 15 May. Number of units used was 46. The worrying thing is we used to pay 100 to 150฿/month. Today's bill was 252฿ for just over 3 weeks usage. OK, only small change, but the cost seems to have doubled.

LOL - talking small change, Mrs BB was given a bollocking for paying with a 1,000฿ note. It seems they don't carry small money, so had no change. If everybody was paying with small change, why was a 1,000฿ note such a problem?

The one positive thing to come out of this morning is the clerk was using the new computer system. Of course, Thailand being Thailand with their tail wagging the dog syndrome, the computer will not work properly until the data is fed in manually :banghead:

My wife dragged me to the Tessabahn yesterday to pay what turned out to be 4 months worth - time flies.

I didn't go in (was parked on a yellow and having a ciggie) but she was in and out within less time than my cigarette took to smoke.

Apparently, there's a dedicated desk at the Tessabahn to pay bills and my wife was told to go there "until further notice".

That's all I know or want to know.

Interesting - I hate using the Water Office. Does the desk have a name, or is there a section i.e. how do we find this office? Which floor is it on? What other bills can you pay there please?

Just walk in and the desk is there? No upstairs/downstairs.

Anyway, my wife did the necessary and I've got four water bills stapled together.

I'm pretty sure that she was asked to pay that way until further notice.

Sounds more like the Water Office - 2 buildings up from the Tessebahn, towards the station (maybe considered part of the Tessebahn, but you have Red Cross in the middle).

More importantly, what date were you able to pay until? Our meters haven't been read since 15 May.

No, it was the Tessabahn. I know the difference between the two buildings.

The access was from the entrance on the corner of Petchkasem and the road that leads to the station.

The bills were from 25/3/67 to 25/6/67 (4 individual months). Different usages and amounts so I'm assuming our meter was read each month but no bill was ever left.

Just asked again and the desk is right by that above mentioned entrance. "You can't miss it as you walk in".

OK, thank you. Will have to check it out. Tessebahn has a much better car park. Very interesting that they had data for you up to 25 June - well ahead of what was available for us. I guess as its all on a shiny new computer system, the same data should be available at multiple locations.

They have promised massive improvements with this new system - hopefully being able to avoid the antiquated Water Office is one of them.

I always found the old system ok in as much as the chap would come around every month, shout out "water bill" and we'd pay him. One of us were usually in. Monty Python's "bring out your dead" springs to mind!!

Obviously that didnt always work but my wife assured me that we wouldn't be disconnected until three months were owed and when that happened, maybe three times in the twenty years at this address, a visit to the dreaded office was necessary.

A little off topic but I don't understand why I can't scan the QR code for the electricity bill. Have been doing it successfully for a long time with our TOT bill which they send by email every month.

Hope you get a more pleasant experience at the Tessabahn if you need to physically pay a bill again.

Yes, I always say why fix it if it isn't broke? The chap on his bike was brilliant. A sad loss to Hua Hin.
