Where to buy appliances... Best price?

Post by SaintLouie1981 »

Hey guys (and gals?)

Well it's official, gave the BKK apartment one months notice and will be moving to Hua Hin (somewhere in HH) in August. Kinda over the apartment thing in Thailand and looking into renting a house down in HH. Cooking my own food is a big deal to me so I'm interested in finding out from you very knowledgeable members of this forum where I can find good deals on electronics/appliances in HH when I move.

Most likely I would have to get some kitchen stuff, like the cook tops (burners), but I'm also going to need a TV (LCD), microwave and some other random electrical goods.

Any good good places in HH that you can recommend that carry these things?

As always. thanks in advance for your help!

Big Kiang - soi 88 - they'll give you decent discounts for buying multiple items and deliver free the same or next day.

Home Pro in Market Village and Powerbuy Soi 88 are also good options.

Price I agree very important but advice, service, setting up the TV in ones house is also important. Are the shops recommend above equal in that respect?

I bought a large TV,a sound system and a blueray player last month and after touring around all the places mentioned above and also Pure plaza, I found the best deal in Powerbuy. It pays to go to all of them though as they have different deals going on different items.
All were installed without any problem.

My two major purchases in recent years have been a TV and washing machine. I found that Home Pro was undercut by Tesco by a few thousand Baht on each item. Easy to browse as they are only a floor apart in the same mall.

Tesco delivered and installed the washing machine the next day, taking the old machine away. Assembled the TV myself and was a doddle to install in my computer network.

Looking for a new, tall, floor standing fan for the bedroom I did the same exercise comparing between the two stores and hit on a full singing and dancing remote control 18" fan in Home Pro. It is so much more efficient at shifting air than the standard 16" fan, bit more expensive but well worth it.
