Hua Hin what a lovely place

Post by Limey711 »

Just got back from Hua Hin, what a nice place. On my friends advise I have bought a house out there and we came out to have a look around, never been to Thailand before and I must say we made the right choice.
The country is superb, the people are so friendly we cant wait to move out there next year. I am thinking of bringing my car and motor bike with me but i have heard that the import tax is quite high can anyone offer me advise on this subject, also will a t.v. from the U.K. work in Thailand.
thanks for now.

Good luck on your move to HH.
I do think that import taxes are high for vehicles, but I'm sure others will be able to advise you better than me on that count.
Why bring a tv to HH? Prices are reasonable here and you won't have to discuss the "sell on price" at customs. Do you want to watch Deadenders and Coronation Street? :D :D
It's a good town, although I don't think I'd be the only ex pat here who would like to see the temperature drop a good few degrees or so. Unbearable.

Buy everything new or second hand here.

Dont try and import your stuff from back home , getting it through customs here will cost you very dearly in terms of money, time and blood pressure. dont believe anybody who tells you differently.

Electrical stuff very cheap here , cars not so cheap but cheaper than bringing yours over paying extortionate import duty and then finding out that you cant get parts for it.
