NNT- National News Bureau of Thailand
·
Heavy rain drenched the city of Pattaya and parts of Bang Lamung district in Chon Buri late on Monday night (Sep 2), causing widespread flooding and leaving cars stalled on the roads. The downpour, which lasted over three hours, flooded several areas, including a section of Sukhumvit Road in southern Pattaya that links the city with other provinces. By this morning, the water had mainly drained, with only scattered flooding remaining.

The Thai Meteorological Department issued a new alert today (Sep 3), warning of more rain in the eastern provinces and other regions through September 7.

Heavy rainstorms that have been continuously falling for 3 days and 3 nights across the Thai-Myanmar border area, particularly in 5 districts along the border of Tak province, especially in Mae Sot district, have caused massive forest runoff to suddenly overflow the banks on both sides of the Moei River.

This has affected both Myawaddy province in Myanmar and flooded the Mae Sot district in Tak province, Thailand. The flooding has shocked residents living along the riverbanks, who hurriedly moved their belongings to escape the forest floods in the early morning chaos. Similarly, vendors at the market near the Moei River were startled and had to rush to salvage their goods.

Unless I'm not reading the right publications, this new Gov has dropped the ball in a huge way. I don't think the military is even there yet helping people. People have no water or food. :banghead:

I don't think they've dropped the ball, they are simply in a state of denial.

It's not in their agenda to be there for the people. That's not what this Govt. and it's partners are about. They are too busy reshaping politics.

Navy SEALs rescued a 3-month-old baby girl along with 10 households of civilians who were trapped by flooding in Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai Province, which was hit by flash floods with strong currents on Wednesday night.

The rescue team waded through mud for about 2-3 kilometers and successfully brought everyone to safety. They continued their operations on Thursday to evacuate all remaining stranded residents.
