RIP Keith Patten (Bristolian)
RIP Keith Patten (Bristolian)
I am in total shock today. Keith posted on here as "Bristolian". The last PM that I had from him was on 19th of July, where he wrote that he had not been feeling well and was having various medical tests. I have tried to both call and PM to him a couple of times since with no success. Today I tried again and there was no answer. A few minutes later his wife called me back on his phone. He passed away on the 25th of last month, the result of cancer. Not sure of his exact age, but he intended to retire next April.
His poor wife and 9 year old son now have a big problem with what to do with the extensive workshop and equipment that he had at his house in Soi 6. He was a genius with working with metal, and there is an incredible amount of both machines and hand tools in the workshop.
RIP Keith, you will be sadly missed.

May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
Re: RIP Keith Patten (Bristolian)
I never met Keith, but having lived in Bristol for over 20 years, we had a few things in common that we discussed from time to time via PM. I didn't even know he'd been ill, so a complete shock to me also.
He was always a good forum member.

Yes, that is very sad and so unexpected. His participation will be missed, his last visit to the Forum was on November 16. His wife and son are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Keith.

What sad news. I felt like I knew him, although I'd never met him, through his comments on the forum. He came across as a genuinely nice guy.
