Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Just to compare. I've just spent 3 months in the UK both in the north and then in the South. In all that time I can't recall a single 24 hour forecast to be even close to what transpired.

Strange, I had exact opposite experience

As I've posted before when I was last in UK(Cheshire) 5 to 10 yrs ago, being a keen golfer I was always on the weather apps. I found them(mostly Met Office) to be very accurate

The weather is getting very unpredictable everywhere. Four seasons in a day (well, two in Thailand) is becoming very common!

According to ThaiMet we had 34mm of rain in Hua Hin( or rather at the weather station in Soi 51/53).

This was only one third of the average for August so we are still well behind for the calendar year overall.

In the Black Mountain immediate area it was 79 mm for all August

If weather in HH is so predictable then why are we over 40% down on average rainfall after 8 months this year?

We're having a dry year so far anyway. That clearly doesn't interest you but it does others

Although, as other posters have shown, is that even within a relatively small area of Hua Hin, the amount or rain varies considerably so it’s only a guide for the area.

Will any of it get here? Check the below link over the next 24 hours. To me at the moment it looks as if it has split into two storms, with the western part actually forming a small second eye for a short time.
