Yes, here in the East also. A beautiful sunny day and thankfully a bit on the cool side. The landscape is greener than I've seen in months. :D 8) Pete

EDIT: On the downside is discovering all the new potholes caused by the water. :banghead:

Went home about 9.30 pm yesterday and the worst part for me was the junction between the end of the Canal Road and the Bottom of the Pala U Road. Totally flooded with traffic being directed through the high, middle part of the road.

This morning, all the water had gone, the only signs of flooding was all the dirt, stones and rubbish still on the roads and gutters. This was being cleaned up in typical fashion by a big water truck with high pressure hose, everything being washed down the drains.

Big - but not the biggest, at least not where we are at Hin Lek Fai. Don't forget, these storms can be very localised.

That's right Terry, I was at a kiddies birthday party not far from you. A couple of light showers was all we had.

My son was due to play football at 8, so we left at 7:15. As we drove off, one of my son's mates phoned him, asking if the game was still on, and if yes, could he scrounge a lift because he didn't think it would be safe on his bike. We couldn't understand what he was on about. As we passed the turning to the elephant village we hit it. Definitely in the 3.5 years I've lived here, 'never seen anything like it. once in a lifetime.

I recall Friday 08 November 2013.

A storm blew up during the morning and dumped shedloads of rain on the bye-pass and the Lodge.

Was driving back from BKK that evening and witnessed 10 - 20% of the trees down on the central reservation of the byepass plus localised flooding.

At the Lodge we lost around 10 trees, three of them quite mature and of course consequentially without power for three days.

I agree that was the biggest storm I've ever known (in my mere 3.5 years), but for sheer rainfall, the latest storm was definitely the best. However, as we've already said, the main heavy rainfall seems to have been localised to within a mile or so of the coast.
