Re: What's happened to the milk supply?
Pretty sparse milk shelf in Makro yesterday. First time I've ever seen it like that. There was also some new (to me) brand taking up a lot of the spare shelf space. I think that because of the shortage, there may be a bit of panic buying/hoarding going on. In BlúPort they have a sign restricting th...

Re: BBC iPlayer
As mentioned before, most of the games (pretty much all of them, as far as I can tell) are also on FIFA+ website, at: https://www.plus.fifa.com I still haven't had any major problems with BBC iPlayer yet (touch wood) even with the recent games but ITVX never seems to work well for me (the opposite o...

Re: What's happened to the milk supply?
^^ So they do all the cows (or most of them) at the same time? I was wondering about that, too. I'm just guessing, but I suppose that if you've got a herd of a few thousand dairy cattle, it would be very cumbersome and difficult to manage it they're all in their dry period at different times and yo...

Re: What's happened to the milk supply?
According to the sign in BlúPort last week, there's a shortage of some brands due to "dry cow" season. Hadn't heard of that before so I looked it up. "The dry period allows mammary tissue to recover and repair, and for cows that have been treated with antibiotic dry cow treatment (DCT...

Re: Buying a new smart TV
BBC or ITV via VPN. Absolutely no buffering so far. Just to mention that in case you wanted an alternative, you can also watch most of the games live for free from the FIFA+ website - plus.fifa.com. No VPN required. Picture quality-wise, I find it's better than ITVX for me, but when the games are o...

Re: BBC iPlayer
Must be an internet issue then if you're both using Express VPN as well and it plays fine. Not necessarily - it could be a number of different things. For instance, what system are you using? If it's a PC or laptop it could depend partly on what browser you're using. I use the Android TV OS app on ...

Re: BBC iPlayer
Tried some of the world cup on it yesterday and it is virtually unwatchable in terms of quality which was less than 480p. For whatever reason, the ITVX player works much better. I've watched a number of the games on BBC iPlayer - for the most part it's a perfectly clear picture, although it does ve...

Re: Buying a new smart TV
I have the opposite situation, the ITVX and iPlayer websites work fine on the laptop with the VPN, but I can't get them working on the TV itself. I can only get BBC iPlayer to work on a Smart TV, not ITVX. Also, to get iPlayer to work, you have to side load it, you can't get it from the Google Play...

Re: Buying a new smart TV
BBC or ITV via VPN. Absolutely no buffering so far. And do you have the ITVX app (and VPN) installed on the TV itself or are you running them on your laptop/PC and connecting to the TV - and via cable or wirelessly? I'm just wondering because I can only get the BBC iPlayer to work on the TV itself ...

If you don't mind me asking BB, how are you watching the games? Which service provider are you using?

Re: Euros 2024
More interestingly, I've heard UEFA TV is free before, but whenever I've tried to use it, I've been told not available on the free service. How do you get it to play live footie for free please? I've always just used the app - either on my tablet or (more usually) on my MiBox 4 (Android TV OS). It'...

Re: Thailand Censorship Thread: tilting towards Chinese-style internet controls
I’m wondering if this is headed to something like the Florida book banning where one person can complain and an item will be removed. Turned out that a small number of people had instigated all the banned books. There's no sign of that. This is all central government-controlled censorship of media ...

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic
A word to the wise, as they say - if you've been through the Premium/Special Clinic and been referred for surgery, when you come for the pre-op clearance, go up to the 5th floor first just to check what you need to do. I didn't, and on the advice of the information desk at the main entrance went str...
