Re: Foreign property lures are rejected

Forums can be dangerous places when people are telling farangs they can own land. Courts and govt officials in Thailand can all be bought for the right price so a stamp on a piece of paper isn't worth much at the end of the day as some have found out. Nobody is claiming that a usufruct allows a far...

Re: Foreign property lures are rejected

I've known a few guys with a usufruct. The real danger is if you're married to the owner. On divorce a court can cancel all agreements made between the couple which would include a usufruct. Here's what the law says, for what it's worth. https://thailawonline.com/usufruct-agreements-thailand/ Accor...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Maybe they mean disconnected but still in-situ which is common practice for long term parking? According to the article, the battery wasn't just disconnected, it was "removed from the car prior to the fire." Also, even to disconnect the main lithium-ion battery in an EV, I think you'd sti...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Not sure just how you can remove a battery from an EV car, but that is what is being reported: Electric vehicle battery causes fire at Sydney Airport, destroys five cars https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-09-12/sydney-airport-lithium-ion-battery-causes-fire/102846146 Five cars have been destroyed aft...

Re: Thailand Immigration: TM30 24 hour reporting thread

When I first became aware of the online TM30 system (several years ago now) I registered on it and input my current address. Not exactly sure when that was but probably about 5 years ago at least. I've never updated it since. I've been in and out of the country multiple times and made numerous trips...

Re: Kebab Shops in Hua Hin

They do a really good shawarma/chicken wrap in BlúPort (IMHO) just near the inside lift entrance on the ground floor. They have the chicken on a rotating vertical spit just like a shawarma stand and I would simply call them shawarma except that they don't use Arabic bread, they use a Mexican-style s...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Why would anyone want to buy a Chinese-made (slave-labour made) poor quality, fire prone, EV that will be worthless on the used car market? Whatever else you might say about them, one thing EV's are not, is fire prone. EV's are approximately 11 times less likely than ICE vehicles to catch fire. the...

Re: Royal pardon reduces Thaksin’s jail term to one year

Is anyone surprised? It was widely reported that some kind of deal along these lines must have already been negotiated, because otherwise he would almost certainly not have come back.

Re: Roses Lime Marmalade

I did go to Nany's and they have Roses products though the two available were Roses Orange and Roses Lemon & Lime. I bought both at, I think, the reasonable price of 165 baht each. The quest for the original Roses Lime continues.... Thanks for all the responses to date! As @sateeb mentioned bef...

Do you have the locations (say, Google maps) for any of them?

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22

Hua Hin Immigration no longer issues you the residence letter same day - although it was a little strange That is strange as the letter was normally done in the office next to the photocopy lady and was done within half an hour. It was that way the previous time I went but when I headed there this ...

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22

Just renewed my driving licence at Pranburi DLT office and it couldn't have been quicker or easier. Got there at 8:40 and was out by 9:30 with my new licence in hand. I had done the online video/test a couple of days earlier and showed them the QR code on check in. Was only renewing a car licence so...

Saw some in Nany's the other day (Soi 88).

.....The "extra time(s)" being played in these matches seem huge to me. Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk There's a new procedure being implemented, perhaps it's already started in this WC? Basically it's no longer up the referee's discretion how much extra time is awarded as it's bee...

It could be that it depends on the method of streaming that they're using and whether that streaming method is supported in the browser or not.
