Re: The Rugby Thread

Wales 20-19 France Ooooo, lots of superlatives from the (mostly Welsh!) boys in the commentary box, but boy, that was close! France in self-destruct mode once again, after a classy 1st half performance in which their no. 10 missed a couple of very gettable kicks and they probably should have had at...

Re: The Rugby Thread

I'm sure members of the league will have received the same Email, but just in case you haven't seen, some news from Superbru: - Predictor Game "At Superbru, if a match is called off, it is treated as null and void in our Predictor game. No points are earned, even though the matches are official...

Re: The Rugby Thread

Still early days, BUT ..... an update on our friend "Hagibis" - I doubt the "Sweaties" will feel too friendly if it hits Tokyo/Yokohama though! Capture.JPG "World Rugby may be forced into taking the unprecedented step of cancelling Saturday’s Pool C match between England and...

Re: The Rugby Thread

And another "minor issue" relating to the possible outcome of Pool A....... "Typhoon Hagibis is predicted to hit Kyushu and Fukuoka on Saturday, with wind speeds of 270km/h and 180km/h when hitting the mainland. Ireland are playing Samoa in Fukuoka on Saturday and, if the game were ca...

Re: The Rugby Thread

^ Thanks Pete - you beat me to it! Having to go by reports rather than actual viewing this week, but don't think I've missed a huge amount - more one sided displays from the Blackness and the Jarpies, the High Tackle law again coming up..... This time with Farrell the victim of a fairly blata...

Re: The Rugby Thread

It was probably 1970 that I played last. At that time the 2 flankers bound with No.8. Maybe Plymouth rules. Certainly in the late '70's I was taught 3-4-1, with the Flankers binding with both the Second and Front rows - the aim being to "assist" the Props bind & forward drive - with t...

Re: The Rugby Thread

This will be a silly question for many, but if you don't know the answer, IMHO all quests for knowledge are viable. Back in the day, when I played rugby, the formation of the scrum was 3-2-3. A couple of days ago, I was watching the rugby on TV, and I noticed the formation was 3-4-1. I've noticed i...

Re: Zip Trip to Malaysia - Photo Trip Report

Cracking reports BB, have thoroughly enjoyed them. Must admit, the reports on KL have brought back pleasant memories as the LHG and I visited several years back. The one thing I do miss about living in China was the fact that we could visit places like KL fairly cheaply and easily rather than is the...

Re: The Rugby Thread

I,m still reeling from that penalty. What were your thoughts pharvey? I really am trying not to be biased!! IMHO, it's an answer with a couple of " Buts "..... Rhys Patchell's tackle technique was dreadful, BUT there was nothing illegal in it...... The penalty was harsh on Kerevi and Aust...
