Re: Hua Hin land price
Buying land in Thailand as a foreigner is dodgy. You either lease it or put it in a company. For Thais, buying land for speculation is where you can make amazing profit. Over the last 20 years I have seen amazing rise in land prices in The Hua Hin area. I have bought many plots in my wifes name and ...

Re: Flight to Thailand bargains
Some great prices on Qatar Airways just now. Never flown them but heard they are great. They say they have the best business class in the world. Just flown British Airways premium economy. Extra 400 pounds but not really worth it. Actually prefer flying via the middle east and breaking the trip into...

Re: Testosterone replacement therapy
Have you tried eating certain foods, like oysters, which give you a large dose of zinc, which is essential for testosterone production. Resistance training, in particular compound exercises, can raise your testosterone as well. Worth a try rather than the bad side effects of testosterone therapy.

Re: Hua Hin rental prices
When you ask about cost of rental properties in Hua Hin, there is no reliable answer. The prices vary so much. You can pay way too much or get a great deal depending on who you rent it off. I was recently looking in an agencies window and was truly shocked at what they were asking! The best way is t...

Re: Life in Thailand: Battling Boredom
You need hobbies or pastimes when you are retired. Amazes me that more older people do not make an effort to get fitter. Plenty of studies show that the biggest gains for resistance training are for older people. If you feel better and stronger, then you are also mentally fitter and stronger. Gettin...

Re: Budget Accommodation in Hua Hin.. where?
There are lots of studio rooms for that price range. You are here at the busier time of year but you will find somewhere by looking around the town and asking locals. There are lots up soi 88 and also along the canal road.

Re: Beginner golfer
Get a good quality, well used set of clubs. Doesn't matter if clubs are a bit scruffy as long as they are good quality. Just make sure grips are in good shape. Too many people are tryingto sell 2nd hand clubs for way too much money and the truth is they should be very cheap. Have a look on E Bay if ...

Re: Is Living Here Difficult for You?
Very hard to learn a new language when you are older and especially if you have no experience of learning other languages. Probably best to try to learn Thai the way children learn, by just listening and copying. Getting the sounds right is the key. Anyway, even if you cannot speak Thai, it doesn't ...

Re: Thai Baht vs. USD Dropping Like a Rock
I seem to recall in late 1997 or early 1998, the pound was worth 90 baht. I remember wondering if it would go to 100 ! I also recall getting 15 percent interest in the banks.

Re: Hua Hin Golf Festival August - September 2015
With the Golf Festival just about to start, was wondering how all the golf courses are looking? I have only played at Springfield A and B recently. Thankfully the B course has now re opened, even if it is a bit rough, it is still more enjoyable than C course. The greens on A course are back to very ...

Re: What do you Like/Dislike most About Your Stay in Thailand?
My goodness ! 48 dislikes ! Well I have lived in Hua Hin for 21 years and love it. I suppose I compare Thailand to the UK and nearly everything is better in Thailand. Property is so cheap, food is so cheap, petrol is so cheap. Golf courses are great and the locals are friendly. If Thailand does not ...

Re: Hua Hin rental prices
Sunny, you would be best to visit Hua Hin and have a look around. Try some of the agencies and also drive around looking for signs and also just asking Thais who you see, in the areas you like the look of. You can get small, basic houses for 8000 baht up, per month.

Re: Hua Hin Golf Festival August - September 2015
Always makes me smile when I see The Eagle at Milford and Kaeng Krachan are offering the special rate of 1000 baht during the festival. I am pretty sure their normal rate just now is lower than 1000 baht. Great deal for the likes of Majestic, Springfield, Lakeview and Palm Hills though. I hear good ...

Re: Rentals on Hua Hin gated communities
I have always found Hua Hin an easy place to rent out my little house. Been renting it out for 15 years and have always found new tenants easily. There are a lot of people looking for cheap, well maintained properties. Not so many people looking for larger houses and the market is very price sensiti...

Re: How much do you tip caddies today ?
300 baht is the normal tip. Tourists tend to often pay a bit more and locals are more likely to pay the normal tip. It is very important for the caddies to find a local who plays 2 or 3 times per week because from March until November they get only 1 or 2 rounds a week otherwise, with long waiting p...
