Cannot see the logic here. What is against showing a picture of a suspect as long as you not imply it is a picture of the murderer.Big Boy wrote:Yes, the suspect's photo, name and address has been issued by police. I won't put detail here yet because he's a suspect - nothing proved.

Re: World Cup 2014
Appears Italy can only win against minor countries nowadays. They cannot beat the tougher opponents.
Their last three matches:
Italy - Luxemburg 1 - 1
England - Italy 1 - 2
Italy - Costa Rica 0 - 1

Another penalty that wasn't one. Should have been 0-5 but I can live with 1-5 too.

Re: Thai driving license
They do no longer accept UK licenses here in Phuket. IDL only. Might still be different in Cha-Am and Pranburi of course.

I think the pictures come pretty close to Big Boy-quality! Thanks for the reportage.

Re: GIRLFRIEND SAYS ITS OVER AFTER 2 AND HALF YEARS
As has been said a long term relationship has more chance of success if the guy is staying in Thailand on a permanent basis whatever the age difference. Agree apart from the 'whatever the age difference' part. Being a 55-year old male myself believe me I can understand he is attracted to 25-year ol...

Re: thai prepaid sim cards
I also use a 12call pre-paid SIM and can confirm that you can make international calls.
I top up regularly 300 Baht at a time. You can check your balance by dialing *121# (free of charge).
You will then receive an instant SMS.
Just did this and it says: remaining balance 147.04B valid until 12/05/15

Re: 90 day reporting on non o visa
Allow me a little nitpicking. When you enter Thailand that it is not 'considered reporting' as reporting is only necessary when you have been in the country for a consecutive 90 days.

I not only like your photo's but your reporting is also very entertaining Big Boy. Many thanks. I visited the Phi Phi view point five or six years ago. There was no charge then. But refreshing to see a 20 Baht charge for all instead of 20 Baht for Thais and 200 for farangs!

Re: Nepotism in Thai business
The word nepotism in English has built into it a sense of disaproval. There is no equivalent word in Thai. The dictionary gives for nepotism ká-dtì hĕn gàe yâat ( คติเห็นแก่ญาติ ) ka-dti (คติ) = principle, model hen gae (เห็นแก่) = think of yaat (ญาติ) = relatives, relations A model (system) whereb...

Re: Photographic Road Trip Report to Krabi Area
Well Big Boy at least you have street parking. I worked in Ao Nang a few years ago. In the peak there would have been no street parking where you are staying. You would end up driving up and down the road doing 5 km an hour hoping that someone is just pulling out. If you are still in Ao Nang check o...

Re: Fingerprint scan planned for all arriving foreigners
I do not mind offering some of my time if this implementation really leads to less criminals in Thailand. Surely they will only catch the tip of the iceberg but at least they are trying to do something. They took electronic thumbprints last time I went to Malaysia. Takes about ten seconds.

Re: Visa run crackdown; 3 strikes and you are out
Crackdown on border runs: “The main reason is the lost Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.” Two people on that flight were carrying passports reported lost or stolen in Phuket. Causality between problem and solution makes perfect (Thai) sense again. Although fingerprints is a good idea. By the way Thai...

Can also recommend Amsterdam Resort in Khao Lak (Bang Niang beach). Basic bungalow therefore not expensive. Two minutes from the beach. The owner is a Dutchman called Kees. He is a wealth of information and very talk active. Knows all the ins and outs of Khao Lak. But he also traveled extensively in...
