Re: The life of the elephants

Unfortunately elephant abuse is rife in Thailand and the authorities do nothing about it. I have posted about this abuse a number of times and personally do everything I can to dissuade anyone from visiting elephant shows or rides. Thailand like most Asian countries think only of the money to be mad...

Re: Hua Hin Floating Market

If it really comes down to it they are not floating markets at all, just market stalls around lakes, nothing different or more enticing than many markets in many other countries.

Re: World Cup 2022 (Qatar)

I still don't understand the award to Qatar. I lived and worked in Doha for three years, pretty amazing place and I really enjoyed it. I was there for the Asian Games and this highlighted many short comings of the place. Bars and entertainment - Alcohol may only be sold in 5 star hotels and they usu...

Re: Twelve Victory currency exchange in Hua Hin

So why then do so many exchange booths/banks not give the best rates?

normal promotional stuff until established then rip off time for unsuspecting tourists.

Since my original post I have found it quite easy to obtain a tourist visa to China, getting a business visa is quite another story.

Re: Where can I buy silver bullion or coins in Hua Hin?

If you purchase in Thailand you will have tax included in the price and then you have the added problem of storing the bars securely. Have you considered purchasing on the net, no tax and the bars are then stored for you. I use BullionVault https://www.bullionvault.com/ and previously used Guernsey ...

Re: Hua Hin airport... no more flights?

Lion Air do not come to HH unfortunately

What amazes me (or maybe it shouldn't) is the appalling web site HH airport has, just about no information on anything

I guess we are doomed to driving to BKK to get flights anywhere

Looking for a flight to Malaysia, used to be a regular one from HH, however I checked the HH airport site and it doesn't show any flights at all, have all flights stopped from HH?

Re: Improved immigration procedures

Anyone know the minimum number of pages required in a passport to get my annual Non IMM renewal, I think they usually like two full pages next to each other, one for the full page stamp the other for the Non IMM stamp
