Re: Rentals on Hua Hin gated communities

I can recommend La Vallee, fully developed so no building going on, full two lane roads, very little internal traffic, huge central green area with pool, clubhouse, no bar but plenty local, delight for kids and 20k would get a huge double story place. Few Km from city so far less traffic

Re: Thai Airways

At the moment I am in Absurdistan soon to be home in lovely Hua Hin, once again to be travelling Thai Airways. Went my usual path of on line booking and could not get it to work no matter how many times I tried. This was really frustrating as normally it is quite easy even if Thai do not have the mo...

Re: Promoting skin cancer on Hua Hin beach; no umbrellas

I have no problem in beach umbrellas, in moderation. After all I am married to a Thai who would never go to the beach without cover. Facilities should cater for all, but please tell me which you would prefer.

Re: Prachuab officials to reorganize Hua Hin beach

@Jumusman, Couldn't agree with you more, I just can't understand the Thai attitude. You find this almost every where not just the beach, especially in the villages. My Thai wife is now a real environmentalist, she wasn't when we met. But the kids are just impossible, I can only guess they follow mor...

Re: Promoting skin cancer on Hua Hin beach; no umbrellas

Each to their own choice, I for one am extremely happy that HH beaches have been cleaned up, leaving the choice up to the individual if they wish to rent to not.

Mr. A. you seem to have made you mind up already which is your choice.

Re: Promoting skin cancer on Hua Hin beach; no umbrellas

We are not talking about Phuket, this is Hua Hin. At this time one can still rent on the beach, I have seen nothing official anywhere totally banning umbrellas or loungers/deck chairs. Maybe I am mistaken. The authorities have stopped the mass occupying (often illegally) of sections of the beach wit...

Re: Promoting skin cancer on Hua Hin beach; no umbrellas

Removing the eyesore of the previous umbrella crowd is not promoting skin cancer it is providing a better environment for everyone in my opinion. Umbrellas and loungers can still be rented along the beach or you can pay a small amount for a day pass at the major beach hotels and utilize their excell...

You can also do it with a Thai pay as you go recharge sim, no problems and no fees except when you use the sim overseas.

I use One 2 Call, no issues

Re: World Cup 2022 (Qatar)

Fifa have not yet confirmed the date will move, it is presently a recommendation, and just imagine the legal claims if it does move I spent 3 years in Cutter (US pronunciation) Guttaah (Qatari pronunciation), great place and would love to go back. Until you have been to Doha you will still think Dub...

Re: New SUV

I recently checked the web sites posted and appreciate all of the posts. I really like the Mitsu, only thing is it look a bit plasticky and I really don't like the silver dash which looks like it will fade fast. Honda CRV is now sold as a diesel overseas so that may come soon Newer diesels seem to b...

Re: Retiring to Thailand early, do I have enough?

Supplementing a retirement income is a major problem for many who receive pension in USD/GBP/Euro/AUD and maybe others, most established currencies have had huge drops which no one expected, now individuals are struggling to cope with an income which may be 20% less than they forecast. Plan carefull...

Re: Retaining Wall Price

I would be amazed if you could have a 2m high retaining wall built for 2000Baht/US$61 per linear meter, the material alone would cost more than that

My health insurance is 60,000 baht a year in Thailand. JW, If I may ask what health insurance do you have and with which company, I have company insurance but that will end soon and my last health insurance through a European provider was US$2,300 a year with no out of hospital cover. steve i use a...
