There's a Phuket bound bus that leaves the bus terminal at 8am. That will drop you off in Ranong in time to do the necessary.
Busses back leave Ranong quite frequently and will get you back to HH @ 1am the next day.

Ho, ho ho and all that.
So I'll be top on Xmas Day.
Does this entitle me to some sort of prize? A few free beers would be well in order, I reckon.

I won't be going to Sungai Kolok for my visa run then. In fact, havn't been for years due to the troubles. Shame really as a night out there was quite an experience. I've been reading that the islands are getting their fair share of rain as well. Some say it's unusually heavy, others that it's norma...

Just admit it. You've lost the feeling. When did you last touch a football? Have you been present at a premier league match lately? Watching tv is nothing in comparison with the real thing!! No gentlemen, I'm convinced you all are brainwashed either by happygetty or Sang Som/Me Kong. (Beer has none...

Why does this seem to get more and more difficult as time goes by? I've just done my predictions and don't feel confident about any of them.

Photo 1 - taken on the beach from the Anantara hotel looking towards Khao Takieb in the distance. Note, no high rise condos. Photo 2 - Petchkasem Road taken from the police box outside the day market. Note, I'm standing in the middle of the road and didn't get knocked down. Very dangerous now. Photo...

This scenario seems to raise its head every year. I believe that most of the businesses are squatting, so there's probably some legal method to get rid of them. However, they are owned by some pretty powerful politicians and military types, which is the main reason nothing's ever been done about it....

Where's the day market?

Having volunteered to do the grocery shopping yesterday, I boldly ventured into town. Fifty beers or so later, I rushed to Chatchai market. What do I find? The enclosed section is closed. Major confusion for me - it's only 4.30 pm. Anyway, after asking around, I discover that it's been relocated to ...
