Re: Bangkok with kids

There’s a great snake farm in Lumphini at the Red Cross blood center.

Very cheap to get in, lots of snakes on show and live venom and snake shows daily at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin

S&S used to be on Soi 94 before it moved over the road. It was a busy spot when it was on 94, not sure now in the new location.

Atcha is always busy, it’s great food for a reasonable price and remains the best in town IMO…for the time being at least.

Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin

I've been reading reports that Kwality has re-opened in Soi 94 near Space Condo. They used to do a decent meal when they were just behind 94 before. Will hopefully give them a try tomorrow or Sunday. I always thought the food at Kwality was the best in town. It was the restaurant next to the horse ...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I'm not too worried about capital gains at this stage. I'm concerned that if I don't have a UK current account it's difficult for me to handle my finances. I need another UK account. Register with Wise (formally transfer wise) I have a current account, option for a savin...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand

Did anyone find a solution to a UK bank closing the UK account of a customer based in Thailand? I'm with Santander, and they seem to have noticed I'm in Thailand. They also mention HMRC, and me being classed as non-UK resident. (Even though I pay UK tax and my Santander account has money coming in ...

Freezer Repair

I have a chest freezer full of food. It seems that the Fraser has stopped cooling.

Does anyone know of a local company or handy man who may be able to fix it?

Many thanks.

Re: Fifa 2022 World Cup Qatar

Arsenal are without Gabriel Jesus for at least 3 months following surgery this week. I wonder if a shock move to the Emirates is in for Ronaldo. One side of me would like to see him there but another tells me there must be a better option out there in the transfer market. Sent from my iPhone using T...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

‘Ancient Apocalypse’ 6 part series on Netflix, with ‘pseudoscientist’ Graham Hancock, who has for years challenged archeologists on their assessment of the ancient world from Egypt to Mexico to Indonesia and beyond. It makes for good viewing if the ancient world mystery is of interest. For those tha...

Re: Thailand Immigration: TM30 24 hour reporting thread

I had an issue with them previously when I went to do the 90 day reporting they asked why I hadn’t reported my arrival back into the country. I can’t remember if they fined me or not but I know I had to drive back home to get the blue book to confirm my address. Tha Yang is around 40 mins from home....

Re: Thailand Immigration: TM30 24 hour reporting thread

I’m sure the official answer is yes, but whether they enforce it might depend on what day of the week it is when you next have to visit and who you see? You either take a chance or spend an hour keeping someone in a job!! Yes, best to keep a clean slate. It’s the drive to Tha Yang that’s the pain, ...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

We’ve just come back to the LOS after a brief trip overseas.

Is the 24 hour notification of residence farce still a requirement?

Thanks.

Re: Premier League 2022-23

I thought Man U were quite good, whereas Spurs were quite awful, so a fair result in fact Man U could have scored more!! ManU will kick on from here. Now the Ronaldo nonsense is out of the press, the manager can get on and do what he needs to do. They’ll be in a top 4 race where it seems that only ...

Re: Premier League 2022-23

Lost? Waiting for your comments. Pffft, ancient history now  In short, a poorly playing spurs team is currently joint on points with 'best team in the world' City and 4 points off the top spot. Hate to be the other teams when we start playing well. Arsenal lucky to get points yesterday. :che...
