Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin

I heard that due to forthcoming elections there will be two "Dry days":- 6pm Saturday 16 March to 6pm Sunday 17 March - for advance voting 6pm Saturday 23 March to 6pm Sunday 24 March - Election Day. If so, I guess bars will be closed, and where to watch the 6NS Rugby? Bars usually only ge...

Re: BBC Filming in Hua Hin - Macaques

I have seen the monkeys (Crab-eating Macqaque?) playing in the sea on a number of occasions. the footage in the youtube clip is quite spectacular, I have usually seen the youngsters splashing around ducking each other, and jumping from rock to rock at low tide. The adults pulling shellfish off the ...

Re: Train Line Demolitions

They are probably "squatting" on railway land anyway as it extends some distance either side of the existing tracks - you can still see the original boundary markers in quite a few places - like an old blue enameled sign.

Re: Legendary bar owner passes away suddenly

Very sorry to here that. I didn't know Gus but have seen him around many times.
His energy made that bar work better than it has done for many years.

Sincere condolences to any bereaved and may he rest in peace.

Re: Kanchanaburi Visa Run

Has any one done a Visa run to Ban Phu Nam Ron, Kanchanaburi recently? I have to go soon and have just been told that they are asking that you now have a Myanmar visa before they let you go.

Wondering if this is fact or 'rumour mill'

Re: New Yr fireworks/ beer on the beach..

The last couple of years celebrations have been somewhat subdued after the passing of the late King. Prior to that Hilton and Centara had big fireworks displays and there were big crowds on the beach in front of them. As you mentioned regarding crowds, three years ago there were literally thousands ...

Re: Chiropractor

I was told there is a Chiropractor who works at the Gym/Fitness Centre on Soi 88, near the big furniture wharehouse not far from Petchkasem Road ; @Letic Fitness. I think he may be French. May be worth calling in or phoning. I don't have the phone number at hand but they are on Facebook or www.letic...

Re: Avast Driver Updater

I think you did the right thing. I'm no expert but do know my way around a bit. I had been using Avast for a while, their free Antivirus software which has a few tools as well, but after a program update last year I thought I was going to have to bin my computer - thought it was hardware issues. Any...

Re: Tourist eVisa trials beginning at the end of this year

I was at the Royal Thai Embassy in London a couple of times recently and they have notices up regarding the forthcoming E-visa. But unlike Australian E-visa this will apparently be just a way to submit documents online and then make an appointment for an interview. sketchy info on London Embassy web...

Re: Beginners yoga

Hello trosst There are quite a few choices of Yoga classes currently in Hua Hin. I would advise trying a few to find a teacher you get along with - it will also depend on your current level of fitness, much of what is taught in Hua Hin is of the Vinyasa or "Flow" type of Yoga where you rep...

Re: Tanawit Hotel vs Tanawit House

I haven't been inside Tanawit for quite a while as the friends I used to visit have left. I think quite a few of the rooms have been sold as Condos, some people have bought two and knocked through. I do however frequently use Soi Tanawit, the approach road. I think "Tanawit House" is the p...
