Re: British tv channels

It really all depends on whether you want all the sports channels.

If you're happy with just the free-to air range of channels, I've found TV Mucho to be the best option. Legal, reliable and low subscription.

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”

10,140 baht a year is a lot for a visa, especially when compared with 1900 baht in Thailand. Other than that it seems cheaper to live in Cambodia, for now. If you factor in the multiple-entry element, which cost around 4k baht extra when I was in Thailand, it puts it more in perspective. Also no co...

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”

I lived in Thailand for 15 years non-stop before I moved to Cambodia in 2015, and I've been here ever since. I lived in the beach resort town of Sihanoukville for the first 9 months and left just before the Chinese moved in and destroyed the soul of the place. For the last 6 years, I've lived in the...

Re: 2022 Entertainment Deaths

Irish singer-songwriter Pete St. John passed away on Saturday aged 90, and there was a fitting rendition of probably his best-known song at Twickenham that day as Ireland were victorious. A lovely man who wrote simple, memorable songs with meaningful lyrics which quickly became part of the classic I...

Re: The Digital Surgery (computer questions/problems here)

Forgot to mention that I use Thunderbird to get my emails, but I've never has a problem of this magnitude before, i.e. close to 1k mails in 24 hours. Seems like it's a planned attack or something - is that possible!!??

Re: The Digital Surgery (computer questions/problems here)

Yesterday I suddenly got more than 700 emails sent to my Gmail account from sources I've never heard of. Nearly all of them wanted me to confirm my subscription to their newsletter or the like - but I've never ever had any communication with any of them. These messages are still coming in today, tho...

Yep, fantastic game of rugby - could still have gone either way with 10 minutes left, but we held on - great commitment. After 111 years without a win, we've now beaten them 3 times in the last 5 years. Well done lads!!!!

There are still restrictions in Phnom Penh - nightclubs, karaoke and bars also remain closed. The remainder of Cambodia has opened up though.

Re: SMS from Thai banks

I've banked with Ayudhya (Krung si) the yellow bank for over 20 years now and when I moved to Cambodia there was no problem changing to the Cambodian number for SMS messages linked to Internet banking - I'm still using it. Hope this helps.

Just to add to that about the situation in Cambodia, Pete: Travel within Cambodia out of those 8 provinces is also banned. Also a 9 pm-3 am curfew in all major cities and towns nationwide. All bars, massage places, dining-in, etc. also closed - all of these measures initially for the next 2 weeks. ...
