Re: ATMs Down

Other banks are not experiencing the same problem but their ATMs also won't work with a Kasikorn card. I tried various banks ATMs and had no luck so I went to the K Bank branch near the Esso filling station and was told their system has a problem. The lady I spoke to told be everything should be wor...

Re: Where does all of the lost phone credit go.

I thought some time ago, there was a court case about this and the result was the government issuing an order that prevented mobile companies from confiscating unused credit. You are correct, and they did stop for a while, but they are back to their old ways again. As usual, nothing comes before th...

Re: Help with visa

I'm not sure exactly how it works in a case such as yours, but I am 100% sure that it can be done because a mate of mine was here legally on the basis of supporting his son who lived with him after he and his Thai wife got divorced.

Best of luck.

Re: New waste water bill, is it a scam?

Scout, where can I buy the bio-enzymes? You shouldn't have to buy anything. Providing you don't flush loads of tissue, and providing you don't use copious amounts of chemical cleaners, your septic tank should work just fine. We have the same setup as mentioned above, and in the 10+ years we have ha...

Re: New waste water bill, is it a scam?

Post the letter to the address where it tells you to pay, with a little note saying "Nice Try" You might also want to consider informing both the police and the tourist police, and if you have a Thai wife, get her to take a pic of the letter and share it on Facebook. I certainly would not ...

Re: Which Mobile Phone?

BTW I'm not one of those people who replaces my phone every couple of months just to have the latest iPhart or whatever, I'll try and eek the last bit of life out of the bastard and only get another one when the current one literally becomes unusable - which this one almost is! :lach: :lach: :lach:...

Re: Which Mobile Phone?

Samsung is considered a 'mainstream' brand. By this I mean you can find it (and buy it) at practically any phone booth anywhere in the country. Moto, on the other hand, is typically offered at the main phone providers only. So accessories are a lot easier to find for a mainstream phone. Does not ne...

Re: Harsh new penalties for unlicensed driving 'not yet law'

To be honest, I find it difficult to believe how anyone who has been living here for a while could possibly think that driving standards here would improve if everyone has a valid license. In my opinion, you could force every Thai road user to go abroad to get a license, and it would not make any no...

Re: Harsh new penalties for unlicensed driving 'not yet law'

The proposal has received a severe backlash from motorists and netizens. They say the move is unfair and paves the way for authorities to take advantage of motorists. With such a backlash on social media, I can only assume that there are a huge number of drivers who consider it their god given righ...

Re: Plant nursery

Yes, a really nice guy, and if he hasn't got what you want, he will usually offer to get it for you. You can also ask him about his other nursery which is more or less behind the one which has been mentioned here. By the way, you can grow lemon grass from the lemon grass you buy at the markets here....

I have a fantastic idea that could help to save the dams from bursting. Simply pump some of the water to Borfai Soi 6 so that I don't have to keep ordering water at 300 baht per truck.

Re: MSG inThai food

I thought it had been declared well and truly safe! Scientists have been testing it for years and whilst they say too much won't be good for you and just as with any food, some have sensitivities towards it, for most, it's perfectly safe. Just a quick check on the net showed this to be the case and...

Re: Did you leave kids behind to come here?

I guess I must be a bit abnormal hahaha, because I have never even considered the idea of my parenting responsibilities ending when my kids reach a certain age. Perhaps I waited to long to have children, but for me, my kids will be my kids until the day I die. They really mean everything to me and t...

Re: Demolition of buildings on the railway road

The bit that is baffling me is they seem to be working on different sides of the track e.g. at the Soi 94 crossing. The probably haven't realized that yet. :D A bit off topic but ................. They have done a cracking job with the new sidewalk on the right hand side of the road, just passed th...
