Re: Videos: Portrait vs Landscape Mode
I’m not sure I understand the issue. I only make landscape mode videos and have never had any platform rotate a horizontal video to vertical orientation. I don’t sing or dance well enough to chance TikTok, but a little research revealed that they accept both vertical and horizontal videos.

Videos: Portrait vs Landscape Mode
One of the things that trouble this old man is the nearly universal trend for people to use portrait mode when making videos with their phones. The other day the morning news showed a user-taken video of monkeys on a rampage in Lopburi. The video was in portrait mode so most of it was either sky or ...

Re: Thailand tourism situation
For reasons that continue to baffle me, my wife has, over the past few years, gotten an awful lot of business from the Eastern Seaboard; especially Chonburi. Last night we spent another night at the Jomtien Palm Beach hotel as she had a court appearance this morning. One thing I've learned is that i...

Re: Wise formerly Transferwise
Thanks. Interesting. I found hat when I did it the way you describe, it took a very long time for the money to get from my bank to Wise.
I guess you just have to experiment a bit and see what works best.
It could be a difference between US and UK banking.

Re: Wise formerly Transferwise
I've never tried using a card. I have a two step process: • First I transfer funds from my US bank (American Express) to my Wise account. That takes a few minutes. • Then I initiate the transfer from my Wise account to Bangkok Bank. This can take many hours. I guess that holding on to my funds for a...

Re: Wise formerly Transferwise
According to my confirmation e-mail, mine took 6 seconds yesterday. and that is pretty normal. I find if I transfer at weekends or bank holidays, then delays often kick in. I just avoid those periods these days. Well, mine was on a Thursday, not a weekend or, AFAIK, a bank holiday and it still took...

Re: Wise formerly Transferwise
I'm wondering how those of you who get instant transfers manage to accomplish it. Here's the timeline on a transfer I did this week: Thursday 7:06 am - You set up your transfer Thursday 7:06 am - You used your USD balance Thursday 8:54 am - We paid out your THB Thursday 1:13 pm - Transfer successful...

Re: Hand Remer
Mr. DIY? No hand reamer at Mr DIY but they did have some very small rattail files with handles that I think will do the trick. Thanks again for the suggestion. Trouble is, once I get in to that place I could spend many hours (and lots of money). Fortunately, this time I got out for 109 baht and in ...

Re: Hand Remer
Thank you. I'd seen those, they seem quite expensive. But, in pinch I might go for that. The similar one on Lazada from China is 70 baht plus 38 baht shipping: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/wellhot-3-13mm-bridge-pin-hole-hand-held-reamer-t-handle-tapered-6-fluted-champ-i3890554051-s14921408962.h...

Hand Remer
I'm looking for a hand reamer something like this: reamer.jpg I found online, but only shipping from overseas for delivery in July. Home Pro here in Korat didn't know what it was. I'm sure they must be available locally. Any ideas? Aside: I thought the same thing about a basin wrenches as well, but ...

Re: Lotus's Petchaburi
We used to stop at the one in Petchaburi on our way to Cha Am. But, we've found that the newer one in Cha Am is a much nicer store with better meats and produce and a bigger selection of all sorts of foods. The one item they don't have, though, is All-Bran. Why it's missing from their shelves is a m...

Re: The Beer Thread 2
It’s really hit and miss isn’t it? The other day I was at the Mall, Korat and spotted a single can of Relax, a hazy New England IPA by Offshoot brewing in Placentia, California. It was delightful. I’ll probably never see it again
