Re: The Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency Thread
Pretty gloomy on the market front yesterday/today, lots of altcoins not really knowing what to do after a downward trend yesterday. A lot of the gains from the last week or so could easily be lost and we could be headed for support levels from mid May if we are not careful. Although, if that happens...

Ha ha, never had that issue... maybe the software needs more time to digest your posts.handdrummer wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 5:56 pm Sometimes I get a notice that I can't post because it's too soon after my last post.

Re: (Don't) Wear a Mask Debate
Well, sooner or later, masks will have to be ditched and become optional as it can't go on forever. I miss seeing peoples' faces, especially women's smiles... sucks like it is now. Yeah, there is still a very panicky section of society about it all but the locals get all sorts of brainwashing on stu...

Re: The Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency Thread
Thanks for the Reply Mr. B, always cool. What you said about ETH sorting it out on the proof-of-stake front in August and becoming better on a few fronts (like the energy one) might present an opportunity to buy/profit as I'd guess, from my limited experience, that it will be well received on the ma...

Re: Thai education system
The no-fail policy is an symptom of business/face considerations before educational ones, especially at privately-run establishments. We all know how you get a meddle now for just showing up as we couldn't possibly highlight uselessness/lethargy/incompetence and all other manner of the truth, then a...

Re: The Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency Thread
Luna went nuts today, like a 700% gain... maybe the whales messing with it. As for proof-of-work like BTC/ETH being unfriendly power wise plus having scalability issues, it's true and may fall foul of the eco-activists, I'm thinking proof-of-stake coins will be better in the long term like ADA (Cada...

Re: Thai education system
I’m not sure whether the Junta has made the education system much worse than it’s always been - students have never been encouraged to question the system. It will take a complete revolution in the education system and that doesn’t look likely to happen - if I’m still around in 20 years time, the s...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
It is clear that they are not interested in anyone arriving at the moment due to all the ludicrous requirements and I highly suspect the few Chinese "tourists" trickling in are more than likely business/government contract etc. people, hence all the opaque info surrounding their situation....

Re: The case of the missing Albino Deer, and murder
Sounds like the vet was a serious nutjob. As for the two rare albino deer ... more than likely got sold via the wildlife trade to someone they couldn't say no to or the price paid was too high to reject. Pretty lame-ass liar explanation about a python sneaking in and eating it ... very convenient, h...

Re: China Pressuring Thailand to turn over tracking data
It's a hard one to call regarding Thailand's true desires of how far they want to jump into bed with the Chinese as there are contradictory signs that suggest different things. It may well be true that the Thai authorities are trying to do their famous balancing act between both sides but I'm not su...

Re: Chinese firm to run Lao electric grid amid default warnings
Yeah, quite right with the comments here regarding the debt trap and a fair few have fallen into it already including that Sri Lankan port that they have already had to hand over with it's lease for goodness knows how long. Looks like Laos will/are having to hand over control to the Chinese regardin...

As has eloquently been mentioned above, there is conflict and discourse between the generations and their worlds in all places now colliding and we are heading towards a critical mass of change due to the tech and other revolutions that are playing out speedily which the social fabric of old and you...

Re: Student protests in Thailand
It is often over-looked here, but many people forget just how brutal and indifferent many in the armed forces/government are about what we are seeing now plus on other subjects too. It happened before, but the difference now is that every time anyone does anything there is a mobile phone taking pics...

Re: Invasive Species Thread
These giant Asian hornets are the stuff of nightmares and are 5-6 cm long with a chip on their shoulder to match. They sting repeatedly, are attracted to stuff like the smell of a BBQ etc., releases a scent that attracts other hornets and have a big set of gnashers. Lots of folks get stung to death ...
